Well it's 12:27 AM here. I have to wake up at 6:30 AM. 6 hours... yeah... so how can I wake up with as little dismay as possible? :(

alarm clock.  if you dont have one, don't sleep.  plenty of caffiene (a lot) and whatever you do, don't close your eyes dont give in.

sry for double post, but isn't it funny how the GS time doesn't match up at all with ppls posts, like urs, 5:30 am, but you said its 12:27 am... WTF??!?!?!?!?!?!! do live in NY? or east coast USA?

I have two alarm clocks, and my dad attempts to wake me up before he leaves in the morning, but all of that almost never works. Odd... I know... :(

I use my cellphone alarm to wake me up.  It's ringers are far less abrasive than a regular alarm clock.

i set 5 different alarms (3 on cell phone, 2 on clock radio) and i'm good to go on minimal sleep

My dad used to bring an aluminum trash can into my room and bash it with a stick to wake me up long ago. Try that.

You have to work yourself into it by gradually moving your bed-time an hour earlier.  Otherwise, there's no getting around it - you're going to feel like crap when your alarm clock breaks your slumber, because even if you fell asleep, your body probably wasn't accustomed to being asleep that early, and you wouldn't get as good a night's rest.

ok before you go to sleep drink about 1 liter of water.  As soon as you get up you will really have to pee.  Also turn on all the lights in your room and play some music that is really hardcore (rap, heavy metal, etc.)

Drink an energy drink right before going to school. Perhaps stop at a gas station or 7-11 and pick up a Monster and it should wake you up within half an hour.

Aww ,only six hours of sleep, be a man and don't sleep, or be a sissy and sleep for two hours.

 

To answer the question, try to place the image of the time you want to get up in your head as you are falling asleep, untill you fall asleep, make the image using the alarm clock you use; a couple of hours later you'll wake up at that time right before the alarm clock rings. It works everytime for me.

Thanks to my GS addiction, I get about that much sleep every school night :P

Get an alarm clock. It also helps if you set it to a radio station rather than a buzzer.

If you have a cellphone with an alarm, set it to vibrate on a table near your head.  I can sleep through my buzzer alarm clock, but my phone alarm never fails.

I used to have a big insomnia problem. Now I take Melatonin pills. Works just fine. And if you still can't get up in the morning, get a real loud alarm clock and set it across the room from where you sleep. That'll wake you up.

Alarm clock, and you need some motivation. Waking up for the sake of it.. will be hard. Some motivation, whether it be go out running, posting on OT or eating that awesome sandwich... Just anything.

citrus alarm clock, wake up to a song blasting, best way to make sure! :D other way is to stay up all night drinking :D

If you'd like to condition early rising as an on-going habit (or even just a temporary one), I'd recommend these articles:

Personally, I just stay up all night, and sleep during the daylight hours. I find I get more done that way. Easier to just stay up, do what you have to do, and sleep when you get home.

I do not advise energy drinks (FullThrottle for example) unless they are sugar free. You will crash from your sugar high in just around 2 hours or so.

Alarm clock with radio tuned to the most annoying station with the volume pumped all the way up. Set it to the time you need to wake up, and your good.
