the thing that makes sex so absolutely bloody awesome isn't so much the sexual climaxes you each experience, but the intimacy you share with your partner; ideally someone you love and not just a one-night stand. it's one-night stand sex that JJ4545 says is overrated because short of orgasming as best as possible; the act of sex in those situations is pretty empty and meaningless.
