How in the hell do you slack off at work and just not give a damn?!

Right now, I'm at work at the library and it's jam packed busy (yes, I'm aware of the irony). We have a ton of books that need to be checked in and shelfed and this other shelver is in the break room jibber jabbering with the custodian, and she's been doing that since she first got in! HELLO?! THERE'S **** TO DO?! How do you slackers just not give a ****?

everyone slacks once in a while....tis life.

there are plenty of people out there who just don't care about their jobs... and could really care less about getting fired.

heck, i used to be that way all the time before i started my career. i interview really well and can get most jobs fairly easily (especially for entry level positions), so i never really worried about it. i would slack off, do the bare minimum and generally not give a damn.

now that i actually care about my job, i'm one of the hardest workers here... coming in early, staying late and working through lunch, when i need to.

i'm not sure what my point is... but there's some perspective on the whole thing.

slacking off and getting paid = win. i slack off at most jobs i've had. the only one where I really pushed myself to be nothing but productive was as a busboy, because it made such a big difference. as a salesman i made 5% commission on the stuff i sold, and sales were never as certain as wiping a table clean for another family to eat in the resteraunt. tips were so good that money was all that was on my mind, where as in sales the commission i made was crap, especially in the summer when my department was winter clothing

I only truly hate them when there lack of work ethic makes my work harder. Otherwise I really don't care.
