This is trite perhaps, but it depends on what I'm reading. If it's some light fantasy fiction, then a matter of some hours. If I'm re-readig Herodotus or Livy... days, and if it's a technical journal or text then a maximum. I could blast through Cryptonomicon, but the same page count in MTW's 'Gravitation' is going to be eponentially slower.

I would have to say anywhere from 2 days to a week. Depends on how much other stuff I have going on and how large the print is. It takes me about 2 seconds to read a line. Every time I try to block read as you're taught in speed reading, I miss something. Sometimes it's contextual part of a dialogue or just not imagining and picturing it right. My comprehension goes way down too. It's not really slow, but it's about average. Something like 250 to 300 words a minute. I wish I could read like 800 to 1,000 wpm with high comprehension and retention. That would be optimally ideal.
