Wasn't there some dude who they dubbed the "Human calculator" who memorized a lot of it and took 3 hours to recite it back to these mathematicians? I saw it on TV once.

it was probably the guy that got the european record, he recited 26000 digits in 4 hours. Why on earth would anyone do that?

How boring is your life if you'd willingly watch a guy recite the digits of pi for three hours :P?
3.14. I'll do my best to erase my mind of the trivial Pi version that is more than three numbers long. :P I just don't find this knowledge to be helpful.

I think it's almost easy for them. IIRC there was a documentary that explained how they memorized things and why they were capable of memorizing so many digits. Something about colors and shapes. :?[QUOTE="harrisi17"][QUOTE="Kikouken"]Wasn't there some dude who they dubbed the "Human calculator" who memorized a lot of it and took 3 hours to recite it back to these mathematicians? These people see the digits as a story or some crap and recite the digits that way. I read that in an article.

I have no idea why I know it that far, since we only use 3.14 in Geometry class...
