Honestly, it's sort of rude to ask. It's really none of your business what anyone here makes, and there's no reason that you need to know.

However, I am fairly confident that you could use the internet to look up the average salary for your area. That would be a good thing to do.

We Gamestop employees don't make s**t. I can't complain too much though. I wanted an easier job to go with college so I don't withdraw again.

Seven dollars an hour. Now believe me, I'm not one of those who complains that teachers for example don't make enough or whateverelse (since I think most do). In my case, working for a not-for-profit organization limits the money I might make. Keeping that in mind, for what I do the money is less than good at best. The positive part about my job however is that it often proves to be rewarding...even if not monetarily.

Seven dollars an hour is not a great wage by anymeans in southern Indiana. A decent wage in my area would be more along the lines of 14 or 15 dollars an hour. A person could live a decent life with that here.

Your cost of living must be high. If you're single and can't live off of $18 an hour you're gaming too much.

Depending on experience and education, I think generally you start off with 8 dollar-an-hour jobs and progressively work your way up until you find your niche or get a degree. (and degrees are never a guarantee for success)

I started out at $9.50 as a paramedic. Needless to see you won't see me on an ambulance. Don't ever go to medic school...

You what P__SES me off, is that I'm currently studying electronic engineering (4 years part time now) and your expected to earn $80K-$150k AUD a year BUT you've got to take a crappy job earning $30-$40 AUD to start with for 3-5 years. Now in the job I'm currently in I'm earning way more than that so what's the motivation to get a Diploma/Degree/PHD in the 1st place.

Jobs are hard to come by these days and if you want a decent paying job you'll have to have years of training or a degree, and a degree is never full-proof. My wife has had a paralegal degree for two years, and has yet to be hired. It's all about

Do what you can to follow your passion, but sometimes that takes a while to truley discover. Sometimes it means relocation or schooling. (Student loans are a dime a dozen often times) Its better to gain experience in what you like towards your goal even if you make less (but not all circumstances allow that) then it is to take a higher pay at something you are miserable doing.

Until then try to get into jobs offer on the job training in decent fields making 10 or more an hour. This is your time to experiment. Its also a time to start focusing on a goal or direction.

[QUOTE="PS2_ROCKS"]$8.00 an hour...minimum wage blows. lovemenow

thats not minimum wage

perhaps in his (or her) state, city, or county.

edit: let me clarify. the federal minumum wage assuming this is the U.S. is i believe 5.15 per hour, but many states or regions including those in other countries have different minimum wages. however, the minimum wage is increasing to 7.50 or so an hour within the next few years, so even though some states have no state minimum wage (disregarding the federal minimum wage) the wages will increase for millions. is that a good thing? maybe, but I have my reservations.

I get £5.55 /hour, which is about $11 USD I think... I'm 17 and sell computers, it's quite good for the experience.
