I am 5'2. I feel like I should lose weight or at least just get in shape. I just feel unhealthy. My dad says I need to watch my weight..my brother calls me fat a lot lately. I've gone up quite a lot, I think, in pants size the past couple of years. I used to be a 0, now I'm a 3. I'm not feeling too good about my body. I don't weigh myself, I'm kind of afraid to.

I want to be able to fit into my old jeans > : ( What is the best way to lose weight?

Well still what's a good way to lose weight? I used to be so much skinnier. I also got cellulite this year. It's embarrassing. At least it's winter so I won't have to be in situations where I need to wear my bikini.

All that matters is what you think about yourself. If you are unhappy with yourself, then do something about it...workout more/eat less or some combo of that

I have recently come to the conclusion that the size of female clothing is utterly useless. I'm a zero! I'm a double zero! WTF?

This is why guys can just go to a store and buy clothes and leave instead of spending time trying them on.

If you want to obssess over numbers - worry about grades or how much money you have invested and saved, or how many close calls you've had with authority, etc.

Well there you go. Youve gotten older. Thats why you cant fit into those pants you were able to YEARS ago. My sister seems to think that she is fat as well, even while being the complete opposite.

100 - 140 lbs apparently is ideal (based on BMI), that system has its limitations though and your ideal weight really depends on many other factors.

I guess I just feel fat compared to my friends. My friend takes this pill for depression and it makes her lose weight like crazy. And whenever I'm with her I can't help but envy her body. And my other friend is much taller than me but weighs NINETY something pounds.

My arms are already too muscular I hate them :/ I try doing little workouts every once in awhile to get rid of love handles and my stupid thigh fat, though.

*facepalms* Tepni.. I'm going to try and say this as nice as I can.. Stop making topics like this, because we all know you want the attention, bad.. You're normal, you're pretty, all that. Eat like you want to, take a run for 30 minutes every day. Remember to snack between meals on fruit or veggies. if you are so desperate about attention, make a blog, tag it with various things that make you easier to find...

In my case the best thing I did was weight myself and after a while of seeing how big I was I got tired and did something about it. Best thing I ever did.

I honestly was not seeking attention. I do not want anyone to say I'm skinny, or call me fat, I only wanted tips on how to stay in shape. I'm sorry I seem that way to you, and probably to a lot of others on here. I don't want to be taken that way. I want to fit in with the OT community. I don't play many video games and I'm not as smart as a lot of you guys. I don't know about politics and I'm not super into music. So I post what I can when I think of it.

Don't listen to all the hate in here tepni. It is frustrating for anyone to see an increase in weight that they don't want, regardless of whether they are still "skinny" in other people's eyes. If a guy made the same topic, I doubt he would receive half the heat you have. Anyway, I personally think 115-120 is fine for someone of your height.

However, if you are serious about wanting to lose a few pounds, the thing that worked for me was planning my food for the day in advance, keeping a calorie journal and keeping track of all my food intake. When you force yourself to think about and write down all the junk you are taking in, it makes you more careful about indulging too much in junk food.

Aw. Thank you. It does frustrate me quite a bit. The food journal thing is a good idea. I might just do that! My problem is I have nothing to do all day while my friends are in school, so I'm constantly eating out of boredom. Eating food has become a hobby for me and I want to stop. Everything sounds appetizing to me lately. I should do that, though...maybe there's an app for it. That'd be handy.

Boxing. I used to walk around at 140lbs and had no upper body muscle mass. Now I'm at 125lbs and my body fat % has gone down by 6.

Okay, really, size three is still skinny. You're not fat, you're not any of those negative comments that you may think. When you look at yourself in the mirror, try your hardest to say something positive about yourself. It helps after a while, trust me, it really does. Everyone has some amount of fat on them. On their thighs, stomach, arms, everywhere. It's completely normal and healthy. Also, don't start starving yourself or taking pills to lose weight, your goal is to be healthy, (which is just making sure you get the nutrients you need) not to be a walking stick.

There are several criteria in determing how much you should weigh. I will list them for you. 1. You can only weight so much or so little depending on the available food resources you have access to. 2. You should weigh as much or as little as you are comfortable weighing 3. Depending on various physical conditions that may afflict you this will also effect how much you should weigh.

I actually had a similar problem when I was younger. Try finding light and healthy foods that you like. Instead of going for chips, go for yogurt or carrots. Go for periodic jogs or get a dog (just be committed!) so getting out is more enjoyable. Most importantly: self control. Alter your diet slowly at first until you get used to eating differently. If you try to make the change too fast you'll scare yourself off it. P.S. tofu and peanut butter are great additions to one's diet.
