I drink it once a week i drink 2 strong cans of beer, 2 small bottles of red wine and a shot of whiskey and after drinking all of that stuff i'm practically drunk.

Usually once a week, or once every two weeks. On Tuesdays there's a bar / club up the road from where I work that does certain drinks for £1 each. That's hella cheap! I only drink Snakebite Blacks there though. It's lager and cider with blackcurrant cordial.
Apparently known as Hard Cider in the US.
If you can't function without alcohol, then you're an alcaholic. If you can't stop yourself from drinking what you drink now, then I would strongly consider you to cut down.how much would you have to drink to be classed as an alcohalic because my parents think i'm turning into one.:?

Almost never. Only twice or thrice in my life have I actually had an alcoholic drink that tasted good in its own right, and I don't need to be drunk to have a good time, so I really have no real reason to drink alcohol, except when in a social situation where it would be clearly socially unacceptable not to do so.
Semi-rarely, maybe once or twice a month or more. I like what I like to think of as "sophisticated" drinks: G&T, Dry or Sweet Vermouth over Ice, Cosmopolitan. Trouble is, these are always so invariably expensive. Plus, my idea of sophistication comes across as lecherous. :P
P.S. Advocaat.
Never. In my lifetime if I do, it'll have to be strongly fruit flavored and not taste like alcohol at all. I have no tolerance for the taste, smell or effects of it. XilePrincessIt takes time, first time i drank beer i dry heaved, now i can drink cheap vodka like water.

But why would one want to develop that ability? :P

same as X360...I used to hate beer, now it's a pint for me ! Usually once a week, on a friday or saturday - just with friends down a pub or party.Vodka + Mixer of your choice. You can pretty much disguise the taste if you don't like it (I often get drinks in pubs/clubs and wonder if there's actually any in), and then adjust.I have never drunk before however it is my 18th b day in a couple days so all my friends are pretty much forcing me too, hehe. only thing is i dont know what to buy cause i hav no idea wat would taste bad or good.

Once a year, if that. Strawberry daiquiris are good, but I don't like anything else.
dracula_16
pretty much this, very rarely have any, havent in over a year. But when I do its something like that, not real strong and has a fruity flavor.
I normally drink quite a bit on either Fridays or Saturdays (or both :P). And occasionally I will have a couple of beers on weekdays

Daily. I usually have a glass of wine with dinner. Sometimes, I'll have a glass of scotch or brandy while watching a movie/playing a game/browing the Internet in the evening. On the weekends when socializing, I'll have more.
Never and I'm 24, decided I didn't want to drink poison just because everyone else did.

Yeah, people who do drink do it because A.) It's poison, and B.) Everyone else does. You've got it all figured out.

First off alcohol is toxic to the body, people poison themselves because they enjoy the effects in small doses. Secondly people who have never drank alcohol before seem incredibly enthusiastic about being old enough to drink it, even fighting through the initial disgust; forcing themselves to get used to it. The only indication of its appeal they have is everyone else is doing it, people grow up in a boozing world so they end up boozing themselves.
If alcohol was discovered today it would have been banned, it's more dangerous than many illegal drugs, but once the majority of the population are on something; there is little you can do. They tried banning it, look at what happened.
Not of legal age "yet". When I do drink, its during parties for the most part. My 21st is in June, so my drinking will increase quite a bit by then.

What makes alcohol so desirable (in terms of being legal as opposed to other drugs) is the effects are much more predictible and easier to manage. You can relatively assume based on how much you drink when you are going to "sober up" and how intoxicated you will get. Other drugs aren't as consistent, so since alcohol is quite predictible and managable, it's legal for people to use. Plus, people have been drinking since "cave man days."
Yes, it's a drug, meaning it alters the brain temporarily. People drink in order to alleviate the worry and social anxiety and just relax. Yes, this can have negative consequences if left unchecked, but it can also be fun. ;)

There are volumes of studies on how alcohol in small doses is not likely to hurt you. There's also all that business about red wine being good for you. There's something about this on the news all the time.
So alcohol is poison? Guess what: Big Macs are poison too. Some people stuff their faces, don't exercise, turn into fat bodies, and die. Alcohol is precisely analogous to any number of foods, which when taken in moderation and combined with an active lifesty|e, don't present a health risk. "Poison," my ass.
Then you go on to talk about how people "force" themselves to drink and get used to it. Yet you claim never to have drank. You have no idea what you're talking about. I think I'll write a post about how non-drinkers are social rejects...or not, because that's a ridiculous generalization, and I don't need to put other peoples' preferences down to feel good about my own.
