How often do you hear "hella"?

I was just wondering, since I live in the Bay Area, how often do you guys hear/use the word "hella", as in "you're hella stupid" or "teh food was hella tasty"? I actually didn't even know until revently that it was a phrase used predominantly in the Bay. I always assumed that everybody used it.

It sounds stupid. Almost as bad as saying "that is full of fail" - lol, doesn't even make sense.

I hear it quite often and im an international school in holland, so think its pretty wide spread :P

Thst seems like it would get hella annoying.

I have some cousins from Oakland, it seems like "hella" is every other word that comes out of their mouth. Really annoying, seeing as they talk like valley girls on top of that.

Living directly in the center of the bay area myself, I hear it loads every day. Its annoying. Actually, whats funny is, in the Santa Cruz area people will seriously not hang out with you if you use it. Thats where I grew up before moving into the bay area, and when all the scene kids came in from over the hill and from the bay area, we would always shout 'valleys go home!' :P. Ahh, the goodold days.

I haven't said it or heard it in awhile. I used to say it a bit, but then just stopped.

I've never heard it be used except in television shows and in that No Doubt song.

I use it all the time... I don't know why.

This is another topic where all I have to say is I live in Alabama, what do you think?

I use it and I live in central Illinois. I'm pretty much the only one though, which makes me hella cool.

I will not lie, I chose the "seldom use" option... Why? Because for some unknown reason I do actually say that on occasion.

Never heard it, and only ever use in in the phrase "Hella****in' Balls-to-the-wall AWESOME!!", and I haven't used that phrase since I watched District B13.

The Northeast is devoid of all hellas.

Closest thing we get to that around here is "Helluvah". As in, "Helluvah party!"
