[QUOTE="Guybrush_3"](42 - 7 + 9) / 4 * 2cybrcatterYou're 5 and 1/2 years old? No, you just did (42 - 7 + 9) / (4 * 2) try again.

wrong... You need to remember your order of operations. you would divide 44 by 4 before multiplying by 2. Since they are both multiply/divide 44/4 would be first. Work the problem from left to right.

nevermind, been out of math too long lol. you're right.

The entire problem works left to right. Ever learn PEMDAS in school? Parenthesis Exponent Multiplication/Division Addition/Subtraction. That is the order of operations that the problem would be worked out in. You had it right the first time. Now if you did have brackets around 4*2, then cybercatter would be correct right now.
Really? I've been told that you have to indicate with parentheses whether or not something falls under the entire line.[QUOTE="Guybrush_3"][QUOTE="cybrcatter"]
That's what that means in single line format unless you put brackeets around (42-7+)/4: [(42-7+9)/4]2yentlequible

It was a problem with the formating. It was incorrect because it was not clear.

Really? I am pretty sure you had it right the first time...[QUOTE="Guybrush_3"]22? Indeed. Also I think Hewer looks terrible in your signature. Avatar is as good as always, however.((42 - 7 + 9) / 4)2
