First official nice date type of thing was when I was 19 I think. I mean I went out before that, but that was dances, with friends ect... Plus before I turned 16 I really didnt do much "dating" at all because I didnt have a car and well living out in the country, its hard to do stuff without getting parents involved all of the time. And then I kinda went though my whole awkward stage from around 16-18 where I was embarrassed all the time. felt socializing was more of a chore than an enjoyment and hated new situations/new people. Like I would still hang out with my old buddies but hated trying to meet with new people let alone courting with girls.
Personally I think dating is really pointless... It's high school drama... Really... But if you go into college it might be a little more serious, but probably not... In college they'd probably just go do it on the first date, because they can...
My first "date" was when my parents drove me and my current girlfriend to the movies. We watched the movie alone and I pulled the whole sly reach the arm around the shoulder bit so I think that constitutes as a date. I was 14 she was 15. Seems like a long time ago lol.

Yeah, that is what I kind of wanted to avoid but I think I easily could have when I turned 16 though, its just my whole "weird phase" kicked in then when I was kinda socially awkward.
While women do have the potential to add happiness to your life you should be in no rush. You will quickly realize how noticeably fast the novelty wears off once they start hounding you every minute. On the off chance that you actually get a cool chick that doesn't bother you 24/7 you will mostl ikely break up when you go to college, so don't worry much about them. Although, it never hurts to get used to asking them out/talking to them/being around them.
I kinda had an official type date when I was in like seventh grade. However, it was seventh grade. I haven't had an official type date since then, I don't think.

And being socially active is never a bad thing. It doesn't matter if the relationships "mean" something or not... you are learning about life and the social aspect of interaction with other people.

I hate to sound like I am bragging but I've done far less than a date... heck, holding hands is pretty much the most intimacy I've experienced... and that was in 1998.
Don't know if this counts, but last summer I went out with this girl a few times, and then last valentines day she became my girlfriend and two weeks ago broke up with me.
In highschool it's totally pointless. Because if you go to college then you'll never see each other again.
Plus I don't have a car.
Really, there's no need to be in a hurry to get into a relationship with a girl or boy(for you ladies out there).

Thats the way I saw it. I have always been one to look for an actual relationship rather than a fling, but I didnt want to start something just to throw it away later but if you are still in HS, date, even just for practice for later.

Er, you dont need to be 21 to drink and go out. I am 21 and I actually do not like drinking when I go out with friends. Its not that I am a raging alcoholic or anything I just feel uncomfortable getting a mixed drink or a beer just because well, it makes me feel old and it excludes them kinda and I dont want to give the impression that I am better because I am 6 months older or thatever. So I usually just have water or a pop.
