I'm still trying to cope with a massive heartbreak. It really sucks. What's worse is when you know it won't end the way you want it, yet you did everything you could to fool yourself into thinking otherwise. Then, when you have no choice but to wake up and face the facts... it stings that much more. JustPlainLucas

love is an idea, like all things, and by necessity an approximation. this reality is not at all helped by the fact that it aspires to emcompass two different yet equally fundamental and powerful emotions, referring to a combination of altruism and comfort, and to amorous bliss, and then to a combination of both. it is an ambiguous word to begin with. is love sad because it is beyond control? no. it is sad because it always ends, and this is far, far beyond us, because we must all die. it's just like any other thing people experience. we have it, we lose it, we are sorry to lose it, we get it again, etc etc. but love is a little bit more than that because it comes closer to really satisfying most people than any other experience. and for that reason, there is a great hope within the concept of love, and I cannot help but be comforted by the thought that there are so many people who act out of love for other people and make great sacrifices on behalf of this love, or that couples share an intense love between one another and go on to create families. I see nothing wrong with those things.quiglythegreat
