I've been realizing, height matters a lot for women. Most girls dislike short guys and won't even respect them, Ideal is 6ft+

What do you guys think?

Advantages for below average height include:

  • Faster reaction times (shorter neural networks)
  • Greater strength to weight ratio
  • Faster limb acceleration
  • Greater endurance
  • Greater power to weight ratio
  • Faster rotational capability
  • Greater agility
  • Greater balance and lower center of gravity
  • Lower risk of heat exhaustion

I'm 5'8" and while I know height isn't one of my points in favour, it really isn't as big a deal as you're making it out to be. At least not here in Spain... :P

I am 5 foot 3. My GF is 5 foot 6.

Quite frankly any girl who would immediately dismiss a guy because of height is not worth it. I only see height being a big issue when the couples heights are so different that it makes kissing and such awkward.

Of course when I was on OKcupid I noticed a bunch of women who were like 5 foot who had on their profile that they demanded a guy be over 6 foot. I feel like they were insecure about their height honestly.

@Heirren: Mayweather and Pacquiao were the first to come to mind... really anybody fighting under Junior Middleweight is gonna be considered "short" according to the standards set by this thread.

Also, just as obvious as those two, Lionel Messi, Xavi Hernandez and Andrés Iniesta are all 1.70m, or 5'7".

Im 5'7 and got over being short about the age of 16!! Anyone who judges a person because of their height isn't worth my time!! There are plenty of Woman under 5'6 and if a man's height is there main qualification in picking a mate, they are completely shallow and worthless!!

Not that it is something I've experienced much myself, but I do wonder why it seems so much more accepted for women to judge men based on how tall they are, compared to men judging women by their weight.

Friends and I are all tall. I'm the shortest one at 6ft... I noticed in Spain that we got a lot of attention... Especially from waitresses that wanted us to eat at their restaurant :P

I totally agree with this post. I don't seem to understand people's obsession with height. I'm 5'9'' and I'm quite satisfied with that.

Ultimately I'd almost bet that smaller people occupy a bigger scene in athletics. Or maybe it is about even.

An area where there is discrimination at times is in the work place. A lot of higher level positions seem to require a demanding, over powering, statue like figure.

Don't worry, as long as the girl you like is shorter than you. Otherwise a bigger deal breaker is how wide you are.

@Storm_Marine: maybe true, but definitely highly irrelevant in the greater scheme of things

i just can't imagine giving two shits about having incrementally higher agility when weighed against having to deal with being a short guy to begin with

i'll take my above average male height any day of the week

Too much male insecurity for one topic..

I'm 183 cm tall and quite satisfied. I wouldn't have minded being some 5 cm taller, but it's hard to complain at my height.

Also, anyone who says male height isn't important is fooling himself-it's not necessarily a deal-breaker, but it definitely matters.

Short people live longer

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/05/16/short-men-live-longer-study_n_5299557.html

Also short people use more energy in exercises doing the same amount of work as taller individuals, which means short people are less likely to be overweight.

Maybe it's the Napoleon complex but they also tend to be overachievers. In all my times in the military, group/team with the shortest people almost always take the win in any competition.
