Did he create himself or something? I have been sitting here thinking about this for awhlie now and it's kinda interesting if i do say so myself. We all know that the bible says that god created the earth and humans. But how was god created?

He was never created. according to the bible, he has no beggining or end. he has always been here, since before he created the universe. thats part of what my religion teaches anyway.
Yup, he didn't "start" he just "is".He was never created. according to the bible, he has no beggining or end. he has always been here, since before he created the universe. thats part of what my religion teaches anyway.

Most religions will tell you that he/she/it is not affected by time, and has always existed. It's just a leap of faith you have to make, I guess.

How can god simply exist? Doesnt make much sense..:?
Fox hasn't produced the made-for-tv prequel explaining it yet.
Seriously though, I'm an atheist so I'm not a good source. However, one can realize Christianity is pretty far-fetched in that this omnipotent being came from nothing and created everything. Even the Ten Commandments sound like something from Mother Goose. Follow these rules and be a good boy, or the bad scaley demon will take you down into the fire.

Personally, I think Christianity has "borrowed" from Egyption Myth.[QUOTE="efrucht"]

Of course it doesn't. But what about the universe itself? How can it have a beginning? That would imply that there was something around before the universe. So the universe has to have existed... always... truth is, human beings cant imagine a pre-universe, so one way to fill those knowledge gaps is with faith in a creator that is above the physical rules of the universe, and has always existed.[QUOTE="whitetiger3521"][QUOTE="efrucht"]

If god does exist, it will be very hard (if not impossible) for our minds to comprehend that he just always been. But that may very well be the truth, maybe. Since god created all things, then there must of been a time when god was all alone. No angels, no humans, no universe. Just god alone, doing who knows what. Amazing, isn't it?
It's not god that created man-- it is man that created god. We came up with it to try and explain stuff we don't yet understand.

Yeah, its in the first few pages of the Bible (or first few hundred). He was never created. according to the bible, he has no beggining or end. he has always been here, since before he created the universe. thats part of what my religion teaches anyway.

Im one of those people who finds it impossible for anything to be in existence forever. It just doesnt seem possible to me. Id consider myself pretty open to different beliefs but thinking that God has always been? No, I just cant do it  There has got to be a beginning to every story, IMO.If god does exist, it will be very hard (if not impossible) for our minds to comprehend that he just always been. Usually if you don't believe in God, then you believe in the Universe.... and it is suggested that the universe has been here forever. One way or another something has always been here.Like Gandalf in the lord of the rings trilogy we have a purpose on this earth and after 10 million yrs we have not yet fullfilled it there is something we must do but ppl take control they start making leaders, but lead us wear? to death. Some one must do something that has never been done before. Most that have never been done before leads to death, there is a reson for this.then the age old question were do you go when you die? hell or Heaven is the usally ansewr so obviously god wants us to make it to heavan when were alive.
Well, which God are we talking about? The Abrahamic God? Zeus? Jupiter? Thor? Set? The God-Emperor of Mankind?

you mean the best way to avoid answering it.
Who is this God person you're all talking about?
I heard his name mentioned at the MTV music awards. Does he do the choreography for all the music videos?

No... Its the best way to answer it... God wasn't created, and if he was I couldn't call that God, God.See nobody can truthfully answer this question!
Because nobody really knows who god really is, nor does anyone know where god came from, nor does anyone know if god even really exists. It could just all be a myth....
Here is another question does the Universe have an end? If it does then there must be something on the other side. If it does not and its infinite that also would not make much sense. There are some questions you can never answer. Can science ever trully find the truth behind everything? As soon as you find the answer to a question another one comes there after about the how the solution of the question you just answered came to be.
Or it could not. Or we have more senses than just seeing, touching, hearing, smelling and tasting. Maybe people feel that God exist, maybe that is the reason why every culture has tried to put a divine being to worship. But you'll know when you are dead hopefully.See nobody can truthfully answer this question!

Here is a question how can you exist? And why do you exist? This world does not make much sense. We can figure out the workings of the natural universe but as far as making sense none of it does. We just grow accostumed to it.[QUOTE="efrucht"][QUOTE="whitetiger3521"]Of course it doesn't. But what about the universe itself? How can it have a beginning? That would also be be a never ending loop that would also not make sense. Not that is wrong but I think we try to make sense to whats around us and what we can see but sense is just an understanding from our perspective. Something does not meet our perspective and it fails to make sense. That is why we the question does the universe have an end does not make sense reguardless of the answer. We cannot persieve space as having an end since we have never found and end. But we cant also percieve space as being infinite since we have never found anything that is infinite. How can god simply exist? Doesnt make much sense..:?
