The Jews were enslaved by the Egyptians, the pyramids were built by slave labour, this is pretty well known, yes?

All the pyramids are, are massive symbols of slavery, I don't see why they are so celebrated.

Andrew_Xavier

oh boy. politically correct rants!

Hardly a politically correct rant, fact is, the pyramids were built by forced labour, and we honour them as world wonder, thereby honouring slavery as a whole, since people are okay with that, that's fine, I just fail to see the attraction.

As much a I hate to admit it (being a Jew and all), but all the modern evidence points against this theory. The pyramids weren't built on the backs of slaves (for the most part anyways), but rather on the backs of those that worshiped the Pharaoh as their god king.

Arg, I'm guessing the holocaust didn't happen either:roll:

Modern evidence, points to the fact that the sheer amount of Hebrew names that were associated with the pyramids, would indicate that the majority of labour done on the pyramids was done by force, aka slavery.

wow, what a nice spin youve spun.

Yes, yes, everything's a spin, nothing about history is true, and heavy right wing values are all that matters in life, I've read your posts before.

Either way, I'm moving right along and bypassing your posts, I tend to get modded whenever I debate the extremists.

Not so much, the two things are associated in some capacity, as, if you look up the places where they claim no Hebrew slaves were used in the building of the pyramids, they are almost always holocaust denial websites as well, when you point out associated material, a one liner quip cannot "own" you, really, especially a generic one like "How old are you?". The ironic thing is, as always, the one questioning age does so without proper capitalization or punctuation, thereby, truly self owning. Of course, this can all be disputed, since fun theories to change history are all the rage now a days, and since many other historical tragedies are being denied, I'm sure he or someone else can find some neo website that will attempt to disprove the fact that the pyramids were nothing more than a historical tragedy, and I'll be "owned".

Wha... Of course the holocaust happened! It would be a grievous insult to try and convince me or my family otherwise. Still, I don't believe this even is comparable.

What Hebrew names? I've never seen any evidence outside of biblical accounts.

Okay, here's the thing; in World War II, when the Allies got into Germany, they saw the corpses of the slave camps, they saw the walking skeletons, they saw the gas chambers with human ashes in them. We have proof. However, no one knows how the pyramids were constructed, which is why we have theories. Just in case you haven't noticed, scientists now believe that followers of the pharoahs and skilled workers and engineers constructed the pyramids, not slaves. They have proof. Do you know how the slave idea was started? The Greeks just assumed it was through slave labor, and that snowballed. You can't deny the Holocaust (unless you're the president of Iran); you can deny that slaves made the great pyramids.

What Hebrew names? I've never seen any evidence outside of biblical accounts.

The passages, serpent spells written in hieroglyphic characters, had puzzled scholars who tried to read them as if they were ordinary Egyptian texts. In August, 2002, Professor Steiner received an email message from Robert Ritner [2], professor of Egyptology at the University of Chicago, asking whether any of them could be Semitic. "I immediately recognized the Semitic words for 'mother snake,"' said Steiner. "Later it became clear that the surrounding spells, composed in Egyptian rather than Semitic, also speak of the mother snake, and that the Egyptian and Semitic texts elucidate each other."

Although written in Egyptian characters, the texts turned out to be composed in the Semitic language spoken by the Canaanites in the third millennium B.C.E., a very archaic form of the languages later known as Phoenician and Hebrew. The Canaanite priests of the ancient city of Byblos, in present-day Lebanon, provided these texts to the kings of Egypt.

It would take us 27 or more years just to quarry the stone that is in the Great Pyramid.

Knowledge33

You're fooling yourself with all this hyprebole. If you were to get the the world's best architects together to build a large stone pyramid (and a lot of labor), it could be done in less time and with greater precision. It's nonsense to suggest that we are incapable of out building the ancient Egyptians. It's not like we don't have the technology. Of course we do. It's just that nobody would ever comit to such a project. It would serve no purpose.

There's no point in looking for some extraordinary explanation for their construction. The fact is, it took a very, very long time and a lot of labor. That's it.

The great pyramids were built...very slowly.
