HP quicklaunch buttons on presario v3000

Three of them are for volume. One of them is the button to launch your media player. I know this because i ordered this from hp with everything already installed and i had to re-install windows. Does anyone know how to set up the button to open something?

if your upgrading from windows xp to windows vista the quicklaunch buttons dont work in vista except for the volume. i have a hp pavilion zv5434rs and i had to download an old version thats from win xp mce
