It is a far to broad hypothetical to draw a conclusion either way. The very logistics and politics of such a war would have to be clarified. How would Germany get to the USA without passing through 3rd party nations? Normandy could never happen without France playing a part. In short, Such a war would be one of Economic attrition, Without trading capabilities both nations would have a very hard time waging a war, With open trade both nations could hold outindefinitely leading effectively to a cold war scenario.

Who would have won between Nazi Germany and the US in a 1 on 1 war? Outside of the fact that Germany did not have any amphibious assault capabilities nor aircraft that could manage to fly the distances needed, the Germans could not even attempt to cross the ocean nor fly across the oceans (even if there were able to land in Greenland or Iceland to refuel and without the local government notifying other governments on the direction they came from and which direction they head when they leave).

Hitler and Göring both screwed up the Luftwaffe by not building long range bombers. Even when the Germans first developed the jet fighter, Hitler wanted to use it as a bomber, not a fighter, thus slowing production and delivery of it for the job it was finally given as a fighter. By then it was too little, too late. Even regular fighter production wasn't enough to stem the 8th Air Force from bombing Germany in the actual war.

One thing that others seem to forget, that the US was largely an agrarian society with many people owning weapons and being hunters. Does anyone honestly think that they would not take on the Germans even without infantry training. Look what the Minutemen did during the Revolutionary War. The Werhmacht would be the only ones trapsing across the US alone as they would have no air power and if they were lucky, tanks. Blitzkrieg was successful due to airpower. That is if Germany could even get anyone across the Atlantic.

Operation Torch showed that the US could launch a cross ocean assault without help. Granted, the US would have had to build many more ships prior to 41 before it could make an assault on Germany, but with what they had for Torch, they could have easily invaded Germany via the North Sea.
