Post some of the questions you had about the movie that were not answered.

Why does the Doc spray water? in front of his house and on himself? Was that water?

Who set up that trap, where Will Smith shot the dummy, near the little pond, where he got knocked out and swung into the air, till nightfall?

How did Anna get to NYC? weren't all the bridges and subways destroyed?

feel free to post more...and if anyone that has read the book can answer them, that be great :P?

That was vinegar (I think) to stop the bad guys from breaking in.

The "alpha male" bad guy.

How did Anna get to NYC? weren't all the bridges and subways destroyed?

Not sure.

I think it was vinegar, In order to cover his scent so they wouldn't follow him home.

Yeah, he noted that they were getting smarter when he talked about on the one 'zomb' (as I call them) peaking out into the sunlight, examining what he did.

The Alpha Male "Dark seeker" and or other Dark Seekers...i assume the main male because he was waiting there, with dogs...i didn't liek this part because there was very little else to suggest that the seekers are capable of this kind of intelligence

How did Anna get to NYC? weren't all the bridges and subways destroyed?

Well she mentioned she was on aboat for a while, and Neville says that the evacuation didn't go as planned so the island may not have actually been cut off

My main question is how do deer and lions end up in Ney York...seemed pretty dumb...

Oh, and reading the book won't answer all (any) of these questions, this movie is very loosley based on the original story (the original is a vampire story and focuses much more on the development of new society).

I suppose the Dark Seeker set them up as it appears that he was waiting for him..They don't appear to be that stupid, that Dark Seeker was holding 2 of the dogs in a leash or something..

Dunno about the animals.. Is there a Zoo in New York?

His video tape after seeing the zombie go into the sunlight was an attackon science today. We are so quick to assume we know everything about something, we think we are so superior. That particular zombie knew exactly who Will Smith was and what he was doing. He had taken a few dozen of the zombies with the exact method they used to capture him (you can see his patient list on his computer, there were at least 30).

The whole movie delivers that message. The scientist in the beginning thought she could reprogram one of the most basic of life forms. Reprogram something that was programmed by God just because she thought she understood. Will Smith was the exact same as that woman. He considered himself the dominant lifeform in the world. The idea that other lifeforms would become just as smart and more powerful than he was is a frightening thought...and one he chose to deny.

Will Smith had refused to believe that the zombies had retained intelligence because it would mean he did not have control over the city as he believed he did. He was in denial, which lead him to approach Frank. Had he seriously thought about the situation, Frank moving would have been a dead giveaway...but scientists always think they know everything.

I dont get why he didnt go to the colony... he would have been able to get the research done much faster with more people...

and the ending sucked.. he should of shot the lead zombie in the face when he smashed the glass and chucked the nade out just as he locked himself in the bunker...

as for the animals the only explanation I can think of is the newyork zoo?

and also after 3 years wouldnt all of the fuel "gone off"

He did not go to the colony because he was insane. The man had been completely isolated, save his dog, for 3 years. No Human company whatsoever. He was content in his own little world, he created imaginary friends (Frank, the woman in the video store, the store clerk) but because he was alone he was allowed to project the image of his imaginary friends onto mannequins to once again fool himself into thinking he was still normal.

As I stated earlier, if he was normal, he would not have approached Frank.

Do you remember how he acted towards the girl and the kid when they first found him? Violent, frightening, for 3 years he had believed himself completely alone. All of his people skills were gone. His dog was gone (which probably pushed him further). So when confronted with people he was clueless.

By the time he died he had gone almost completely insane, yet due to his hunting and constant research was able to keep those skills sharp. So when he was with Sam, we thought he was normal. That part of his mind was never allowed to dull...but don't tell me you think the Shrek act was something a sane man would do.

He didn't believe the colony was there, but you have to assume that the army there would have a lot of communication equipment and would hear the daily radio broadcast, why would they not have went to found him (thy would know who he is and would likely want to support the research...he wouldn't have left but you'd think they would have made contact)

The animals coem from a zoo is kinda dumb, how are they going to get out? Who would have bothered letting them out

I think it is dumb that the seeker was able to set the snare...sure Neville under estimated their intelligence and didn't understand their "motive's (going into the sun, etc) but really, besides the snare there is nothing to suggest that the seekers possess significant intelligence...

Time: September 2012...right?

Setting: Cure for Cancer? found...but turns out it has bad sideeffects, a virus spreads...90% of the population dies in an instant (5.4billion), 570,000,000 turn into zombie/vampire/monster things, 12 million survive...but probably dead, Will Smith believes he's the only one left...tries to find cure for the virus....

The vampire set him up with Frank.

He didn't believe in the Colony because of the mass infection that already plagued the world. How can you believe there are other people when noone answers you after three years of radio broadcasting?

He explains that in the movie. Not everyone became darkseekers. Only 9% of the population could even survive the transformation. 90% of the human population was simply killed by it. If everyone but him were a darkseeker, he'd have no chance, becuase they'd be everywhere. It was the thinner numbers that explained the survival of the deer, the lion, him, his dog, and other animals. If there were 5,999,999,999 darkseekers he wouldn't have been able to go outside his house.

The ending didn't suck. The ending was good. He died, but his cure lived on and in the voiceover Anna said it eventually managed to reboot society.

Anna getting into and out of NYC confused me as well...And how was her car lights able to scare the zombies away?

[QUOTE="-D3MO-"][QUOTE="Agriath"][QUOTE="-D3MO-"][QUOTE="GodLovesDead"][QUOTE="-D3MO-"]

Who set up that trap, where Will Smith shot the dummy, near the little pond, where he got knocked out and swung into the air, till nightfall?

Agriath

Obviously the vampie/zombie guys set them up.

I thought they weren't smart enough to though...

Yeah, he noted that they were getting smarter when he talked about on the one 'zomb' (as I call them) peaking out into the sunlight, examining what he did.

I thought he was saying the exact opposite...something along the lines, losing all qualities of human beings, and going into the sunlight maybe because of starvation...or something like that

true.... gah, im confused.

Also, how would they get the supplies...including the test tube. I think Will set up the trap himself, but then he forgot he did. He then proceed to go insane by shooting the dummy.

Post some of the questions you had about the movie that were not answered.

Why does the Doc spray water? in front of his house and on himself? Was that water?

Who set up that trap, where Will Smith shot the dummy, near the little pond, where he got knocked out and swung into the air, till nightfall?

How did Anna get to NYC? weren't all the bridges and subways destroyed?

feel free to post more...and if anyone that has read the book can answer them, that be great :P?

he did remember he was captureing zombies to find a cure and he set that trap so he could catch another one.

they game from Maryland which is south of NY. and i don't think there's a bridge that links Maryland and NYC

ChicaQueenWarGa

Obviously the vampie/zombie guys set them up.

I thought they weren't smart enough to though...

Yeah, he noted that they were getting smarter when he talked about on the one 'zomb' (as I call them) peaking out into the sunlight, examining what he did.

I thought he was saying the exact opposite...something along the lines, losing all qualities of human beings, and going into the sunlight maybe because of starvation...or something like that

true.... gah, im confused.

Also, how would they get the supplies...including the test tube. I think Will set up the trap himself, but then he forgot he did. He then proceed to go insane by shooting the dummy.

well the zombies were evolving, therefore becoming more intelligent, as pointed out by Will somewhere in the movie. Remember Will did the same trap to the zombies earlier in the movie? And remember when he would always go and talk to the dummies? apparently the zombies (or maybe just the alpha zombie) took note of these things.

Roland1987
the lions probably got out from the zoo, just like the tiger did the other day and killed a person while injuring others.

zombies? No.. More like mutants. Since it change a human into something eals. This is a quote for wiki

""even though the character Anna calls them "dark seekers", and they consume living flesh, their design is inspired more by the concept of their adrenal glands being open all the time than by conventional vampire imagery""

That also answers why there so angry. "adrenal glands being open all the time"

maybe it explains why they are so strong too? even if it seemed kinda rediculous at times.
