That is tough stuff TC but please try to not blame yourself, this was an accident and they happen, as others have said.

You should visit him and don't be scared to tell him how you feel and how sorry you are, it'll do you good to say it and for him to hear it. I doubt very much that he will be hostile even if he is angry at you. Visit him often if you can and if he's in there for a while. Offer to bring him stuff if he needs it, that sort of thing. Good luck.

That must have been quite a shock....I hope he recovers so that he isn't confined to a chair. Maybe you should go visit him in hospital to show your capacity for sympathy.

You both knew the risk, and the possible results. I box, but I have no pity for my opponent. Why? Because we both know the risks.

He shouldn't be mad at you, he took the risk by entering wrestling.

You should probably visit though.

You did nothing wrong. When one participates in athletics they assume the risk of injury to themselves. The only way you could be responsible for harming this person is if you had used some method outside of the rules of the game.. and since you didn't do that you're not responsible for what happened. However, it's good to see your concerned for his well being and you should meet with him and wish him well.

Go see him man. Nothing wrong with breaking down in front of him it just shows him how sorry you feel.

Pay him a visit. Seek his forgiveness. Visit his family etc. I think you should try your best to become a close friend of his. Something bad has happened, but you should try your best to get the most good out of this situation. A gift suggestion of mine would be flowers and if you're a good cook, maybe you can cook something. The hardest part is going to be forgiving yourself. You need it to be able to move on with your life. Best of luck TC.

If someone broke my back, I'd become furious just thinking about him, let alone seeing him. Stay out of his life, you already did enough damage.

This isn't what your coach meant when he told you to crush your opponents. :(
