I cant believe it but I have abandoned firefox for chrome...UPDATE...back to FF

Being one of the biggest firefox fan for years I have to admit just how good chrome is. Firefox has just become too laggy in comparison, chrome feels so much smoother and almost never freezes.

I was unable to load FDM in chrome only to realise just how fast it's own native downloading is, I dont need a download manager at all. Chrome has it's own adblock now and I had stopped using no script on firefox anyways. It's been a month now and it's safe to say in my opinion chrome >>>> firefox never thought I'll be saying this.

Google really is just fantastic in everything they do.

Has chrome converted any other long time firefox users?

I had never used internet download manager so I didnt know just how ridiculously fast it is. I gave it a try and it wont work in chrome but runs blazingly fast in firefox. Damn I dont know what to do now, I'll rather not have a separate browser for downloading stuff and this is just too much speed to giveup by downloading from chrome. Even FDM doesnt come close to the speed of IDM.

I have gone back to firefox now, IDM is just too good.

Ha, I did that hella years ago. I absolutely love chrome.

It has lovely extensions too. No lag, no glitches, no fail.

I switched from Firefox to Chrome last year.

Eh, in my experience Chrome has a lot of trouble with loading media-heavy websites. And opening more than a few tabs and it starts sucking up resources like nobody's business.

That, and it doesn't really have all the addons that would get me to switch. It's a nice browser, but Firefox is nicer.

I have not converted. I try it like once a month, but I get flash player problems a lot on chrome and until that is fixed I won't convert. I stick to opera for performance, but I do use firefox mostly because of extensions. I also use yahoo toolbar to store my bookmarks so I can access across several PCs and neither chrome nor opera support it. ttobba07

Opera beta is faster than the latest Chromium builds, so yes.

That has little to do with it beyond a certain point. I have a gaming machine with an i7 processor and Firefox is noticeably slower than the fastest browsers.

Not that there aren't reasons to use Firefox over faster browsers..but to claim it's on par (speed-wise) with something like Opera or Chromium only goes to show that you likely haven't tried anything other than Firefox.

i was just going to try chrome and well i delete firefox days later it make web browsing more fast

on windows i use chrome exclusively, but since moving to mac i just use safari. Its fast and i like the look of it more.

I did the same thing about 6 months ago and I've never looked back :D
