Being one of the biggest firefox fan for years I have to admit just how good chrome is. Firefox has just become too laggy in comparison, chrome feels so much smoother and almost never freezes.Gambler_3
I changed to Chrome a few months ago for this exact reason

Google's Chrome is actually based on Chromium.

Chromium is an open-source project.

Then technically "They" didn't do it.

Same. I used firefox for years, even after Chrome came out and then I re-downloaded chrome for the lulz and I loved it.

Wow. You are arguing just for the sake of arguing.

Chromium is the primary project. Chrome is an off-shoot Google project that draws its code from the Chromium project.

Chromium is Chrome prior to Google bastardization..which is exactly what you were describing. That's what I was trying to say. Don't start up with these annoying word games, please.

You just described my experience. Firefox being suddenly slower after I switched to Chrome is really weird. I almost think browsers must affect each other's performance, because Chrome was always slower than Firefox when I used Firefox regularly.

Yeah, I've been using chrome for a while too.

I still like Firefox, but I don't see myself going back to it unless I had to.

The new-ad-block is nice, not as good as FF ad-block though. Good enough to finally make me make the switch too though.

Google chrome is pretty good, but I'm going to stick to Firefox. Well really, I'll stick to anything that isn't IE.

Google adblock doesn't adblock ads on google.com, so it's useless.

[QUOTE="dreDREb13"][QUOTE="YoshiYogurt"]I'm a huge firefox fan! I even used netscape(wasn't that the old firefox?) way back then. Google chrome is so fast and so cool. MUST RESIST URGE! maybe i can use both? :)

Mozilla Minefield. 64-bit browser, amazing speed (faster than Chrome), and all the lovelies of Firefox. You'll have to download a 64-bit flash, though. Also, not all extensions will be compatible, as it's a beta, but I love Minefield. :)

64 bit flash? I'm using windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. is that it? I might use this minefield!

Well well the tables have been turned..

I had never used internet download manager so I didnt know just how ridiculously fast it is. I gave it a try and it wont work in chrome but runs blazingly fast in firefox. Damn I dont know what to do now, I'll rather not have a separate browser for downloading stuff and this is just too much speed to giveup by downloading from chrome. Even FDM doesnt come close to the speed of IDM.

Chrome works better (ie, it's faster and such), but the functionality of Firefox (what with all of the add-ons) is why I hold a preference for Firefox over any of the other browsers.

Chrome>>>>FF>Opera>>>Safari>>>poo>more poo>IE, IMO of course. Firefox was always crashing and was slow. I've tried to switch to the FF 4 beta, but it still wasn't as fast or smooth as Chrome. And I really like Chrome's minimalistic interface and clean UI.

You need to hit Opera next. I went from Firefox to Chrome then Opera. It's not perfect but it's the one i'm most satisfied with.artichoke

Browser roulette, it's getting to be that time for me again. Opera's been crashing a lot lately and everytime I want to use facebook chat I have to switch to another browser. Chrome still seems to be the fastest so I'll probably head back to that.

Dumb question, how the hell do you browse favourites in google chrome, I just hate the layout of it. PLUS, firefox has way more updates and skins, and it runs faster than chrome on my computer with fasterfox addon installed

First off did you import them? If you did they should be in the "New Tab" part right underneath all your extensions. You can also hit "ctrl+shift+b" for your favorite to pop up.

Same thing happened to me bro.

Firefox is becoming laggier more then switched to Chrome and yea.... Smooth like silk
