Honestly, is it just me or is cycling alone like really lame? Of course I could drag a couple of friends along but I like being able to cycle at my own pace and stop when I'm tired without anyone going "Dude seriously..?".

You should train a monkey to ride a bike with you. No joke, if you were to ride around town with a monkey by your side, you'd get a hundred times more attention than having any other "friend" of yours by your side. Nerd_ManThis good man here know's what he's talking about.
On the contrary, I'd just rather not look stupid. I look really stupid. Not just "not cool".I don't understand why you have to look "cool" riding a bike.

Who ever looked cool while cycling? Nobody cares, nobody important.

Know what? It doesn't matter what others think of you. If you want to go cycling alone; then go for it and don't worry about what others think of you.
just worry about cycling, and being cool will take care of itself 8)
also, are you one of those guys that gets all suited up when you go out for a ride? cause i don't think those look cool at all...

I don't know about the whole cool part, but cycling alone means you can't draft behind other people so it's harder depending on how far/fast you ride.

WTF?........ Ya know what's even lamer? Those dudes & dudettes who pay a (insert expletive) huge load of money to sit on those cycling machines at the 24 Hour Fitness Center when they could do it for FREE! Seriously, there is nothing lame about biking out & about on your own. One member mentioned about training a monkey to join you. If not, get a dog to run next to you while biking. It's a great way to "walk" the dog while doing your own thing.

I did look wicked awesome biking when I was a kid. You see, I had this device attached to the right handle which sounded like a motorcycle enginge when I turned it. Everyone turned there head around to watch me, and I bet they thought "Oh dear baby Jesus, that's gotta be the coolest SOB alive".Don't ask me how, but I read the thread title as 'crying alone' ...I expected a much funnier thread, filled with disappoint atmrawsavonI did the same.:(
you don't need to look cool, TC. You already are cool.
I hear riding bikes makes you feel less sweaty than walking.

Oh, he would get attention alright. But maybe not the attention he was hoping for...
