no u sickos im not talking about sex im talking about my house i cant get downstairs to get warm. It's a new condo like townhouse. the floors are wooden and upstairs is carpeted. I can't get downstaits as warm. We've tried blasting the heat but then upstairs felt like the surface of the sun where downstairs was like pluto. We then tried blasting the heat again, but with the upstairs vents closed and downstairs vents open. this still didnt work. it's been in the teens as of late usually downstairs heating has not been a problem. we have to leave the oven door open and heat downstairs that way. is there any other way??

You need a base heater that warms the ground and walls down there, rather than the air. The hot air will just rise up the stairs, but if you heat up the floor and walls it should remain warm.

Sidenote. My place has a really crappy heater. The windows are all frozen over and it is about 10 degrees celcius inside.

It is a summer cottage that is rented out weekly in the summer. It has no insulation. It is about -12 outside.

If it is a forced air furnace close the vents upstairs, open them downstairs. Also if there is a door to the downstairs, keep it closed.

yeah thats the prob there is no door for upstairs.and we've tried the vents things upstairs still heats up fast. i guess we're screwed. and about the fire i dont think my neighbors will like the idea as were conntected townhouse style :) It is just built so i would think it is insulated well i guess we'll have to invest in more carpeds or something

Close half the vents upstairs, and any vents that aren't used.

Also try to keep a good air seal. Cover up the windows and gaps in the doors.

If that doesn't work, you'll probably have to buy a space heater.

Ok, I checked you're other post and that there is no door between the basement and the 1st floor.
To help this, take a blanket and use it to block the hot air from exiting the basement.

Pull down your pants and hold a lit match by your behind!

Well that comment literally reduced any chance of ever being taken seriously. Then again, was there.. No... Musn't ask it questions. -Ed.

Disclaimer (saving my ass): This is in no way meant as an insult to anyone. However, I am unsure if my choice of words isn't seen as censor bypassing. It is merely a spoof, concoction of my own, directed at nobody. Well maybe -Ed.

**** -Ed.

Translation by 2FacedJanus(not -Ed. or the other guy):

Yes you sickos, I'm talking about sex. I'm talking about my body, I can't get my wood petrified. I got a new condom big as a townhouse. My abs are tight, and I have chesthair. I can't get my wood as petrified as my nipples. We tried beating the wood but then it felt like my chesthair was on fire, while my wood went ice cold and dead. We then tried beating the wood again but with wearing a t-shirt, while unzipping my pants. This still didn't work. I also had this problem in my teens, however usually getting wood petrified is not a problem. We have to take the whole pants off and petrify the wood that way, is there any other way?

Did you guys even read my post or are you just going off the title? It's not my basement, i dont have a floor heater and it's a townhouse style condo which means there is no door to the steps that lead upstairs. I've tried closing the vents upstairs already and i've tried the windows and doors there is no cold air sucking through it's just the floors are cold causing everything else. I guess like a frying pan only it's coldness coming from the bottom.

Are your ducts and registers all set to the open position?
