Thats never happened at my EB :( Oh well, not the best place to pick up a girl :|
EB clerks here piss me off...the first day I go I see an employee trying to show a customer how to plug headphones into a GBA SP. While he's struggling to do so I go "Hey, you know the SP hasn't got a headphone jack, right?" and he replies by tapping on his nametag and saying "Who's the official here, huh?" So I turn my attention to the customer and tell him: "The SP hasn't got a headphone jack, but there are accesories that enable you to do that, they're right over there". Needless to say the employee was now hanging his head in shame...moron.
"Would you like to buy a strategy guide despite the fact all of the stuff is readily available on the internet?"
"Would you like to preorder something, because God only knows that our record on fulfilling preorders is absolutely top-notch. Would you, would you, would you, huh?"
"Why, yes, we can give you $1.00 for that game that we will sell for $12." (or whatever. I don't sell games to them.)
I frigging hate Gamestop / EB Games. Seriously, they are like Radio Shack, in that I think a requirement for getting employed there anymore is to be a deceitful, disingenous worm (although at least the people at Gamestop usually have a clue about the store's products, which is more than I can say for Radio Shack these days), but they are pretty much the only place to buy a large selection of used games from anymore, so...
They annoyed me last time I was there... treated me as if I was a complete moron.
Clerk:Sir, you are aware that you need a good computer with dual-core processor to play play Supreme Commander at decent settings right"
Me: Ok? What's your point...Â

Gamestop,EBgames,FYE. Almost EVERY clerk I meet MUST judge the things I ask for or buy. There so god damn annoying. I went in a few days ago to get Okami and the guys like (in a really nerdy arrogent voice) "You DO know the next generation of gaming is here, dont you?" I was like.....yeah buddy....I do. And I go to FYE and my cousin works there so I mention the 360 im getting soon. And the guy next to her is like "XBOX sucks bla bla bla" These kids think they are like super gamers cause they work an electronics stores. I cant stand it. Anyone else hate it?Kokiri-Kid
Its clearly "sales talk" (Though it is kind of insulting really)

Yep, most people are stupid. However, I work at EBgames and if you had brought Okami up to the counter I would have said: "This is an awesome game."Â
I can honestly say i've lucked out at the EB/Gamestop where I live at. They're actually friendly and know what's what when it comes to games.
