Anybody else stay away from the super bowl? I had a super bowl of soup and some video games. I never did watch it in general it is just overhyped and I would rather stare at cheddar cheese.

Yep, same here. The only positive part of Super Bowl for me are the snacks. :P

I played games, read, and did everything I would normally do.

I do not like watching sports. ESPECIALLY racing, nothing sounds more fun to me than hours upon hours of a group of cars driving in a circle

Yeah I heard it was a great game. I cant stand all the breaks that slow the action of the game up. If I was to watch a game this one would have been the best I am sure.

I really don't like any sports in general, I can't really be proud of something I didn't do. So I stay away from them. At the time where other people would be watching sports, I'll be Painting/Song writing and accomplish something that I should rightfully be proud about, something that I did myself. :P

I couldn't watch it because I was at work. I caught a few quick glances, but not much. I did see a nice catch though, which was awesome.

That's just plain American ignorance right there. there's a reason why two thirds of the world watch the FIFA World cup where just 700 million watch the Superbowl ya know.

I know, but at least football defense is exciting. Soccer defense? Ohhhhhhhh you stole the ball only to have it stolen back in a second. Ohhhhhh you blocked the shot before it got anywhere near the neat and now there's a corner kick or throw in that does nothing. /Yawn

What do you mean it's not prevalent? It's the core of every game! You are just blind ignorant. If there is no scoring, then wouldn't it give rise to the fact that maybe there is a lot of awesome defending? Your post doesn't hold up..

Not to mention the US population is over 300million. Only a couple of countries have more than that in the world so it is completely fair to compare.

Where does that matter? I know that if I wanted to see such a great sporting occasion such as the Superbowl, then I'd watch it because of the hype surrounding it, regardless of country. Clearly the World just doesn't see it that way.

PROPER football isnt really stop start though.

Yes, but maybe two goals are scored an entire game...

That's just plain American ignorance right there. there's a reason why two thirds of the world watch the FIFA World cup where just 700 million watch the Superbowl ya know.

I'm ignorant because I dont find it particularly exciting to see maybe two goals and like five good shots an entire game?

It's ignorant that you think that football just has two goals in each game and five good shots...

I've watched my share of games. I fell asleep during the World Cup. I dont think I'm alone at all on this either. Sorry, but scoring and awesome defense isn't exactly prevalent in 'futbol'...

What do you mean it's not prevalent? It's the core of every game! You are just blind ignorant. If there is no scoring, then wouldn't it give rise to the fact that maybe there is a lot of awesome defending? Your post doesn't hold up..

What's the core of every game? I dont find the defense to be 'awesome'. I find indoor soccer to be much more enjoyable.

Clearly no-one agrees with you.

There's a reason why it's called football: you play it with your damn feet.

American football is more like rugby...

Oh and it's much more interesting to watch the tricks in "soccer", and when they keep stealing the ball it can keep you on the edge of the seat.

Clearly, the entire country does...

Clearly not, otherwise we'd have a succeful indoor football league and the MLS and USL would collapse.

But wait, what happened to NFL Europe? Oh yeah, that DID collapse.

I win. Bye bye now.

I don't mind watching the odd american football game but any more and it gets boring very fast and the superbowl what a joke its too commercialised if im watching i don't want some pathetic half timeshow and loads of stupid tv ads i want to watch the game but i never watch the superbowl.

I heard some stupid facts aboutthe superbowl they expected to get 1 billion viewers are they on drugs it hasnt got that much of a following outside of the statesand certainly doesnt have 700million fans outside of the states the only single sport event that could get that sort of number would be the Fifa World Cup because football(soccer) has by far the biggest following worldwide being the main sport in most countries and secondary in a lot of others i can't name 5 countries where football(soccer) isn't in the top 3 main sports.

If you didn't, you missed one hell of a game. Of course if you don't like football, I guess you wouldn't really care.
