I don't believe it's possible to have "bad tastes" in music. Music is a human concept; it's also very...big. What I mean by "big" is that there are so many songs accompanied by a wide variety of genres that something in particular will stick out to each individual. There's things that you're gonna like and things you aren't gonna like. Everybody has different tastes in music but no one can have "bad tastes" in music because it's so diverse...along with the human mind. I like mainstream music but a lot of users here don't like it so much. I hate it when people are always bashing it as if it's absolutely the worst thing in the whole universe. It's not THAT bad. If you don't like it, that's fine. But people don't need to constantly bash it and degrade it; there are people who like what they are bashing.

So, what do you guys think?

Don't make me bring out example two.

Let's take a look at another example: literature. A bad piece of writing is uncreative, under-descriptive or over-descriptive, pointless, stereotypical or incoherent, with one-dimensional characters, unrealistic settings and poorly developed plotlines. Bad writing exists. Same with music.

People can like bad writing. That's fine. But that doesn't change the fact that the writing is bad. Same with music.

People who say bad music is subjective just want to make up excuses for their bad music taste. That's like saying BrokenCyde is better than Radiohead because of personal taste. Reviewers would make a wide, opinionated joke of you.

That depends on whether or not this "taste" involves calling Hannah Montana "the greatest music ever" while scoffing at Beethoven, Mozart or Dvorak.

"Bad taste" is just a matter of opinion. I hate most rap, but some artists really are good. Rap is not bad taste.

I love classical music, it's calming and soothing and wonderful. It's not bad taste.

Metal scares the crap out of me, but I'm not going to diss it, but it is bad taste.

Pop is over-rated, it is bad taste.

Whether you agree or disagree, "taste" in music is not a fact, but a strong opinion, by a region, a group, a person, or no one at all.

I've already defined bad music, and it's not just me defining it that way.

Bad music. Bad literature. Both exist.

Of course it's not possible to have good/bad tastes in music - live noticed, we all are different and via that have different tastes. People just need something to argue about, that is :P
