Sup homies,

So I have this brand new bike - my second bike ever! The first one was a cheap chinese bike that I used to learn to drive and stuff but now I have a rather good and somewhat expensive bike but ummm my bike knowledge is limited to:

1. checking tire pressure

2.checking break fluid

3.chancing engine oil

4.checking battery fluid

and filling the tank with gas.

What else should i periodically look into? A pal of mine drove my bike and said that the chain was far to loose but I dont even know. Should I just sell my bike and go back to taking the train 0_o

Cheers !

My knowledge is next to nothing as well.

The chain... I think if you can pull it up or push it down and it doesn't move more than an inch, it is okay. It shouldn't be to tight either, however anything more than an inch (or maybe the limit was even less) then you should look into it. You don't want it going off when you are out on the road. I assume you already know this, but always test the brakes before you start driving.

Is it air cooled or liquid cooled?

Clean and lube the chain once a week. The most important part about tightening the chain is to make sure your tire is aligned when you're done. Look up the string method youtube.
