First year of college done and I hated it. I'm too lazy to do the papers and stuff. I think I might just become an electrician or something...-chronogears-
I thought high school was a lot worse. You have to go to 6 classes straight without break every single weekday. In college you take like 3 or 4 classes a day..sometimes only 1, and you get breaks in between to goof off. And you get 3 days off in college if you don't sign up for a Friday class. How in the hell did you get out of high school?
Your future=my decision.
And I want a sub in the near future, turkey, five slices of triangular cheddar, lots of hot sauce, and chipotle.
Well honestly that might as well be the decision that you regret for the rest of your life when your making 30,000 dollars a year doing some job that you would have never gotten if you did 4 years of collage it's your life i'm not your dad to tell you, you can't do that but as a said if you have a tottaly lame job one day blame it on your self

I like your radiohead avatar :)Â
You've already paid for a whole year. Don't blow it now, finish it. Think of how much better of a job you'll get when you finish collge.Account_27

I was going to major in business, but now it doesn't seem worth it and seems like a useless major since I don't know wtf to do.Â
Don't go to college because you think you have to, or because people tell you that you have to. And ignore the "go to college or you'll spend the rest of your life in McDonalds!!" commentary as it's far from true. The people who do get stuck at McDonalds for the rest of their lives didn't even get out of high school, nor have they developed any skill or have any drive for success.
I personally believe college is entirely up to the individual and that no one "has to" go to college. It's a decision I think only the individual can make...
There are plenty of jobs that you can get from simply having completed high school that pay quite a bit more than a fast food restaurant. That said however, a degree will definetely open the doors to more varied and much higher paying jobs, so if you're looking for financial stability you might want to reconsider.
However, either way I do still recommend getting a certain level of education in an area your interested in. Even if you're thinking of becoming an entrepeneur and striking it out on your own it helps to be educated in certain fields like accounting so you can calculate and manage your funds correctly.
Or... you can cross your fingers and hope you win the lottery, though I wouldn't bet my life on it.
Mean, but far from the truth ?Your future=my decision.

[QUOTE="leegar88"]You know some people would kill for a chance to go to college but can't.mohan88They can't because they don't have enough money. Obviously still as a said before
Higher education is nothing but a big pyramid scheme. The professors of yesteryear told the students of yesteryear that in the future all jobs would require a higher education. Now you have people who went through school for 4 years to be a librarian or be a secretary.
But it's a hard life if you don't go to school. People think that you must have a college degree for many fields, therefore you must have a degree for many fields.Â
If you have an enterprenurial attitude though, you can still make lots of money without any higher education.
Good luck.Â
You know what I'd recommend?
If you don't want to go to college at the present time, then don't. If you are living with your parents and they are paying your way as well as the dough for college, you have no perspective as what living out in the real world is like, what supporting yourself truly requires, and what oppurtunites are available with the level of education you currently have. I tried to go to college directly out of High School, and didn't really see the relavence in it because I was supported in full by my parents.Â
So I decided to try supporting myself fulltime with a HS diploma without the parental leash, and you know what? It sucked. No feeling of progression, just the feeling of going through the motions, of surviving while all my friends progressed in their careers that they had gotten with the help of their degrees.
Now I'm attending college because it truly means something to me. It is not for someone else's wishes, it is for a life that I wish to have one day. Going out into the world before going to college was a blessing: it showed what it requires to support myself, gave me time to explore what I wanted to pursue as a career, and gave me the perspective of doing something I hated every day, all day.Â
All this is not to say that you can't make it without a degree, but it will undoubtably be more difficult.
So yea, I'd suggest getting out into the world and find something that will support yourself. It will progress from there, and hey....maybe college just isn't for you.
Get out there and find out.
