1) It's not a big deal. It'll blow over one way or another. I'm willing to bet most people at your school don't care that you groped her.
2) You apologised. It's up to her to accept that, but don't get in her face about it. If she wants to talk to you again, she will. If she wants to be left alone, leave her alone.
3) Saying "I touched your butt because I have social anxiety" is ridiculous, and self-serving. Take responsibility for your actions, don't blame them on some amorphous, ill-defined "condition". Like I said, touching her butt at the dance was inappropriate, but it wasn't a big deal. you don't have to make up elaborate excuses for it.
It was inappropriate to her. She needs to understand it's a high school dance and guys make mistakes. Most girls are rubbing their butts on anything that moves at a dance.3) Saying "I touched your butt because I have social anxiety" is ridiculous, and self-serving. That's a generalisation, and it doesn't apply to this situation because she was clearly upset that he did it. It doesn't matter to this story what "most girls" are doing.
If she really had to have time to think about going to the dance with you, that means that she really had to push herself to do it. You touching her butt after she barely went there with you isn't a good sign.
Either that or she's incredibly bipolar

I'm not at all saying she can't object. I'm just criticizing her for her complete lack of empathy for the OP.[QUOTE="CheddarLimbo"][QUOTE="quiglythegreat"][QUOTE="CheddarLimbo"]It was inappropriate to her. She is a teenage girl. A male friend of hers at a dance made a modest sexual advance. She pretended to be cool with it and freaked out. I think she acted poorly.Well, we don't really have her side of the story, though, do we?

This topic is depressing. I'll try to lighted it up. with a similar story.
About a month ago I was at my dad's wedding reception and my dad is cool so most the song's playing were hip-hop. I was dancing with my cousin's best friend who is 17-18 yrs old(not sure). She was grindin on me and all of a sudden my dad comes around and grabs my hand and starts smacking it hard against her ass. It was freakin' hilarious. she was not offended incase anyone want's to know. My hand never left her ass after that for like an hour.
****, I mean there are people who lose spouses who had been with them for 20 years. People who lose family members, well paying jobs, homes you name it. Stop being a **** and deal with it a hell of a lot worse **** is going to probably happen to you in the future so start getting used to life sucking now.Headbanger88
Can somebody give this man an amen?
Oh, what the heck. AMEN!
Hi, I'm in high school.
O.K. here it goes. I had been e-mailing this girl for about a year. We really got along well and everything, and she met my mom and shook her hand. I met BOTH of her parents, and they really liked me. Well, I'm in Student Council and my art teacher, who sponsors it, informed me of the Back-to-School Dance that was supposed to take place on Friday from 8-11pm. I asked the girl I'd been e-mailing to go to the dance with me. After chewing on the thought, she finally agreed to go. Well, around 25-30 minutes into the dance, I was having loads of fun, and hormones took over. I was rubbing her shoulders, and then made my way down to the buttocks, and gave it a pat with both hands. She didn't make a big deal about it at the dance. She still smiled and danced with me, and even hugged me goodbye. Well, the following Monday, I was in the cafeteria when I spotted her sitting at one of the tables. I sat down by her. She looked at me in a very unfriendly way. I didn't understand what was going on, so I just said "Hi", and, almost exactly after I finished the word, she slapped me HARD across the face. Needless to say, I was completely stunned. I said "What was that?" and she replied "Don't ever touch my butt again!". I was still in shock and just said "Sorry, I have social anxiety, and I couldn't think of anything to say, so I did something stupid." I really do have social anxiety and was already planning on seeing the doctor for it. I've already been to a therapist. Anyway, the next day, she smiled at me AGAIN,TWICE. Why the heck did she wait two days to slap me, and then suddenly go back into casual friend mode and smile at me? Now rumors have gotten across the school all over this trivial thing that happened at a Friday night dance. Her parents hate me now, and so does her brother. They're treating me like I raped her.
Do I no longer deserve to live over this?
I was crying in the library after she slapped me. I was even contemplating suicide. Am I a worthless bag of garbage over this?? I'm so confused.
I AM getting professional help.

Yep. That's what happens when you commit sexual harassment.

Making a one time move does not constitute sexual harrassment, especially in the context of a date. Now if he kept repeating and she kept trying to stop him...then it would be harrassment.

You can't be serious. It's called having fun.

Uh...maybe to you it would have been okay for him to whip his **** out while he's driving her home.
Whatever, dude. It was an inappropriate sexual advance. It was totally uncalled for. It's sexual harassment, plain and simple. If not sexual assault.

Two different things, if she wasn't comfortable she should have told him to stop. You are blowing it out of proportion

I don't think you have social anxiety. People with social anxiety wouldn't ask a girl out or go to a dance. And you shouldn't have grabbed her. Plain and simple.GettingTired

Groping unwilling women is "fun"?
Remind me kick your ass if you come within 1000 feet of my girlfriend/sister/daughter.
okay listen.
he patted her butt.
butt pat =/= rape the same way a watergun =/= Ak-47
She went all bipolar on his ass it seems. The same way that girls hang with celebrities and accept everything that happens untill they realize that they can sue for money claiming sexual harrasment. What I don't get is what this girl gain by switching up like that.
I don't think it's appropriate to shoot someone with a watergum OR an AK-47.
MrGeezer
Okay, whatever I'm done. I'm not trying to start anything. I apologize if I offended anyone.
[QUOTE="killer5555666"]Everyone deals with things differently, but suicide is the end. There is no going back once you're dead. Just try to work things out and over time things will hopefully get better.iGaze
I beleive that life never ends... so suicide would be a big mistake... you'd not only have to keep living... but youd be living in eternal torture worse than anything youve ever been through or imagined... Thats called HELL.
