I contacted the dealer and they said I can trade it in for a manual, and I will go see what they got next week.

Nice car. I've always loved those (especially the rims). Except for the seat material and pattern. It kind of cheapens the whole thing. Minor issue, I suppose, but stands out as everything else looks so good about it.

American is alright, although I'm not a fan of gas guzzlers. To the other guy, the car was around 27k.

I do like American too, but the ones I usually end up liking are gas guzzlers, you know the v6s or the v8s. I got this car because it was exactly my style. I wanted a hatchback and the GTI's are the best looking hatchback, I also wanted a sporty ride.

Not bad. The interior is kind of mixed reaction for me. What's the gas mileage on that via the sale sticker?

The GTI's cloth is really nice, actually. The pattern is hard to love at first, but it grows on you. It really compliments the car, trust me.

I'm looking into getting a GTI soon, but with the Golf R (265-hp, 260-ft-lb, AWD versus the GTI's 200-hp, 207-ft-lb, FWD) supposedly coming out in 2011, I think I'll wait for that.

As for the TC, go to an APR or Revo dealer and get a Stage 1 upgrade. Only alters the ECU, so you can get a respectable 250-hp and a similar torque value out of it. 200-hp is not enough for that (or any) car.

Nice car, I like it. Now you can throw up the VW sign to all your homies. 8)

I would have put up a few more grand and got the VW CC Sport.

I do, but the stick is just more fun to drive and costs less. I'm thinking if I can get the stick + black leather interior to even it out.

I've heard that the cloth GTI seats are actually better than the leather.

Better in what sense? Looks? I actually like the black leather a lot. I do like the way the interior looks now too, but the black leather is very high class.

Nice car. I was a valet for a year at a hotel in Whistler last year, the VW's were not a bad drive at all; especially the GTI's - however I prefer standard. :P But congrats! :D

Yeah, a lot of people don't realize it. It's a standard in disguise. The DSG is also a great feature. It can switch gears faster than a person can.

Meh. It's the principle of having a good ol' stick shift, not the fact that it 'shifts faster'

Well, if you stick it in the shiftgate, you're actually in control of the gears, like a standard. It's not a guise like "Tiptronic" or "Steptronic" is. Those are just automatics (with a torque converter) that allow you to think you're in control. The DSG is mechanically identical to a manual (in that it has a clutch), so with the exception of not having a clutch pedal (which is, granted, a big part of the experience of driving a manual), there's no difference.

If you drove that in the UK you would be the scum of the Earth. But I'm going to assume you're in America. So you're safe for now.

And I personally like the interior more. Congrats.
