[QUOTE="FPSunionOWNS"][QUOTE="xTheExploited"]Does anyone know if being woken up by someone else during Lucid Dreaming is dangerous, cos normally my mum wakes me up for school. I'm just wondering cos I've heard that you arn't supposed to wake someone up who is sleep walking cos it could cause them to have a heart attack, and since I have never sleep walked or lucid dream't I'm assuming they are similar in some ways.xTheExploited
if your mom wakes you up during a lucid dream you will be fine just extremely pissed lol.

Haha thanks. So it will basically be the same as every morning before school.

yea but i think i didnt do it my first time because i wasnt sure if i believe in it entirely cause i read about it on wikipedia. thats why i quit trying it but last night i got lucky and had one and i know that lucid dreaming is possible. You just gotta know that you can do it.

[QUOTE="Deihjan"][QUOTE="FPSunionOWNS"]if i lucid dream tonight im without a doubt gonna try teleportation lol.FPSunionOWNS
where to?

well like close ranged and super fast like nightcrawler if there are other people in my dream i wanna like teleport behind them and punch them in the back of the head and when they turn around teleport in front of them. its always been my dream to have that power. And i dont mean like sleeping dream i mean like a goal.

ooh, sounds cool. If I ever have a lucid dream I'll probably grow wings and fly around :P

Damn so it's called lucid dreaming? I've done this many time through out my life, but usually when I realise I'm dreaming, I realize I can also wake myself up and usually do. Also there's been times where I'd realize that I'm dreaming and have full control of it and be partially awake and aware of all of my surrounding... Is this normal and those this have a name too? Interesting topic thoughbigblunt537

That's pretty cool :). I'm not too sure if I've ever had a lucid dream, because I'm not sure what the definition is, exactly. I have had dreams where I realize I'm dreaming and make myself wake up, though.

well waking yourself up is a lucid dreaming tactic thats one of the things you can do while lucid dreaming. Next time you realize dont do that though instead do something impossible like walk through walls or fly it is fun believe me.

[QUOTE="Deihjan"]It takes a lot of practice for some people, others can do it by nature. Personally, I've been trying to control my dreams and prevent nightmares by trying to force myself into thinking "this is just a dream, if I pinch myself I'll not feel a thing, and then it's time to wake up". I've failed a couple of times with it tho, but I have stopped a nightmare once!_glatisant_

I'm not sure I like the idea of being in control. I think my subconscience can come up with much better stories than my conscience.

if u do have lucid dreams can u stop having them and does it happen evry night or only when u dream?

Prolly not a "lucid dream", but Once I had a dream where I'd go back and forth between two certain times, and each time something different would happen that wasn't too good such as being bombed to being shot in the face....

I'm pretty sure I had a dream where I felt like I was in control, but if I was in control I would've done something far more spectacular than what I normally do in dreams. But I have had some pretty strange dreams where sometimes it did sort've feel like I was actually living it.

I was in the Morrisons in Wimbledon, it was afternoon. Suddenly it became night and a tannoy went out stating that teenagers had to be returned home due to curfew. At once, a huge wave of teenagers ran out in to the street and police kept trying to kill us all. It was like a warzone, one particular part I remember was when I was running down the road, explosions going off everywhere. The camera of my dream was following me the same way it does in Gears of War. I jumped over the hood of a police car, just as another car smashed into the one I jumped over. Then I ran inside another building and it reverted back to dreamless sleep. I had that dream at least 6 months ago, I do usually have good dream recall.

Does that sound like a lucid dream?

[QUOTE="LeePearce"][QUOTE="Jandurin"] you take control of your consciousness in a dream (without waking up)Jandurin
How does one go about doing that?

I dunno. I just did it. *shrugs* I'm not sure whether there are techniques. You just realize you're dreaming, and then start doing what you actually want. Though, to be honest, I prefer to be an observer in my own dreams, when I start trying to control it, I feel like I ruin the experience my mind has set up.

This is true, but you're not always an observer right? You just don't know it's a dream and act accordingly

I have never been able to lucid dream but I had a ridiculously ****ing hot sex dream last night. I very rarely ever have sex dreams and when I do they are drawn out and usually extremely boring. This was just awesome. Straight to the point, no bull****. I was laying in bed, she sat down beside me, got up, stripped and then climbed in with me. The part I hated was when my alarm woke me up before it got really serious.

When I have a lucid dream I mostly go around killing people and causing havok (and other dirty things), although I haven't had one since I was a kid.

Eiher way, have you, in a lucid dream, been on the verge of waking up? It's pretty ass, as you have to clear your mind and do less thinking to stay in wonderland, but sometimes you wake up anyway, that is really annoying.

What do you mean actually be in the dream?

Are your dreams usually seen from a third person perspective/ you're not dreaming as yourself but someone else?

I always dream as my self in a first person perspective, although once I dreamt I was steven Seagal and I had the power to send bullets cross cities and around corners, I could also do the same thing with some kind of coloured energy. In true Steven Seagal style I also kicked some ass, old style.

yeah, by saying in the dream, i mean first person, it's me, but i've been third person as well, but never dreamt I wasn't myself, I could just be an observer for what I am doing and I have taken control, as well. I've only ever killed 2 people ever in a dream. Some Heavy Metal (the movie) esque chick that I chopped in half with a sword (disturbed me) and my friend.

Let's analyze a bit.

To dream that you kill someone, indicates that heavy stress may cause you to lose your temper and self-control. Consider the person you have killed and ask yourself if you feel any rage towards him or her in your waking life. Your dream may be expressing some hidden anger, yeeees.

Although it could also mean you're putting an end to old habits. Regarding your friend, killing him could signify that you want put an end to an aspect of yourself that is represented by the person you killed, although in most cases it's supressed rage and agression.

Also not lucid, but I can see the future in my dreams. Meaning if I see an event that will happen, and it's bad, I can stop it from happening.

Can knowing that you're in a dream without any control over it, and having the capability of waking yourself up any second at will be counted as lucid? If so then I lucid dream all the time.

fun 2 things He's someone I haven't seen in a long while, and represents my past life. and He didn't invite me to his wedding. :P I don't think I was angry at the time (he hadn't even gotten engaged yet), but the letting go of that aspect makes sense.

oh yea lucid dreaming

first two i remember i was like 13 and i went sex crazy!!!

:)

after that i settled down to more impossible stuff. like flying.

i always wonder why that when im dreaming i cant bring myself to think and know im dreaming and set off the lucid dream. and another thing is Nightmares. everytime i have a nightmare i instantly realize im dreaming and i keep it going its like having the perfect scary movie. but sadly after a while i realize my thoughts will control the flow and i start thinking about the worst things possible. like family members best friends just dying at that point i keep truying and trying to get out of it but myself wont let me.

Its horrible

Eiher way, have you, in a lucid dream, been on the verge of waking up? It's pretty ass, as you have to clear your mind and do less thinking to stay in wonderland, but sometimes you wake up anyway, that is really annoying.

Jandurin

fun 2 things He's someone I haven't seen in a long while, and represents my past life. and He didn't invite me to his wedding. :P I don't think I was angry at the time (he hadn't even gotten engaged yet), but the letting go of that aspect makes sense.

You don't think you were angry? Well, that's where the suppressed anger comes into play, we are suppressing emotions every day, analyzing your dreams can help you understand yourself better, and will give you valuable insight in your subconscious thoughts and feelings.

What I find amusing is that symbols in dreams means the same for every person, which is wierd considering how different people can be. Maybe we all are connected somehow?

[QUOTE="randomhero5677"]Also not lucid, but I can see the future in my dreams. Meaning if I see an event that will happen, and it's bad, I can stop it from happening.Dark-Sithious

I see, give us some examples

Well:
1. I saw my friend kill themself, so on that day I told them not to do it because I knew they were going to.
And
2. I saw my family getting in a car crash while on our way to target. So I tell them I don't want to go today because I "have plans with friends".
Plenty others but can't remember them right now. (These two were recent)

hehe, perhaps. But I was a nice kid, although I did bite my parents every now and then.

I released most of my anger upon insects, and did various, erm, experiments on them...

I see. Are you able to do this when awake?

Perhaps you have sensed passed away relatives, or even spoken to them?
