LOL. You Americans and Dragonball Z and Naruto... I pity you... there are so many other anime that are better than those two. Someone mentioned Evangelion and Cowboy Bebop, which is a start, but even those are just the tip of the iceberg of truly great anime...

I enjoy Naruto thoroughly and I realise how corny and dragged out it can be out time, it's too addictive for it's own good.

But there is such a large variety of anime for anyone, watching in subtitles with Japanese is ideal. I enjoy long animes because I don't want to say goodbye to my favorite characters, but the shorter, richer stories are where it is at. Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, Scrapped Princess, Eureka Seven, Elfen Lied and so much more.

And the Dragonball series is pretty terrible. ;-(

Hellsing= Best anime.

There are very few Anime that are good, with COMPREHENSIBLE Compelling storylines. But 90% of Anime are CONVOLUTED INCOMPREHENSIBLE garbage, overshadowed by Visual Aesthetics.

Mostly, I appreciate Anime in its Art and Visual Aesthetics. I like the ultra-violent post-apacolyptic themes. But sadly, the storylines tend to stray away from these themes, marred only by the Incomprehensible Convoluted story telling.
