It--or another version of it--is the only way I can see and talk to my girlfriend, who is away at school. It's laggy and everything, but it's free. Sooo. I can't complain.
My girlfriend is going to Scotland for the month of October. As seeing her in person/texting her is not an option, Skype when she has wifi is going to be amazing.

How so? I am on Skype now and I am on it for several hours like every single day and I can't remember it ever messing up one single time in like 2+ years...?
Ever since I got a new job and moved my girlfriend and I use it. Honestly it makes things a lot better than just the using the phone. I probably would give up my tv before I gave up skype.
I only use the video part of it when talking to whomever might be my girlfriend and occasionally use just the sound/voice aspect when playing online games with friends.
Same here, which is why my friends and I recently switched to TeamSpeak 3. Saw a server was on sale for $1.73/mo for 10 slots, which is a steal considering that normally it's $4. So I picked it up and it's been great.
