What was I thinking when I made this topic? Why am I talking about high school in the summer? What a waste of time.

Yeah, I can agree with that, but still. Why did I have to make this topic? I almost got into a flame war, too.

Schools teach a wide variety of subjects so that you use it. Think of school as a brain workout. If you stop working out you lose your muscles right? Similar thing with the brain, if ou don't develop it at an early age your intelligence could very well be limited. That's not to say this is always the case however.

Akawoa
this. school is supposed to bring out the genius in you. you don't go to school to learn. you go to school to learn how to learn ;) then you can learn how to stay safe, get a job, etc

Well, I don't know if it was already mentioned, but I wish high school could provide a more broad range of subjects to be taught to appeal to different people. It would be cool to have law (enforcement) and psychology classes (among other things) in schools in place of having to take extra math, science, or history that you're not interested in.

But to answer the original question: I felt that most of what I learned was good to know, but certainly not too helpful in the long run (depending on what you want your career to be).

All the things you learn in HS are nonsense, dont pay attention and go to college and skip class. That will prepare you for the "real world"

They don't know what choices you will make later in life regarding your career so they give you a over view of all basic subjects that you may need later in life.

SHUT UP AND GET OUT OF HERE YOU STUPID IDIOT! YOU MUST BE BORED AS **** TO JUST STAY ON HERE AND FLAME! GO ELSEWHERE!

I'm not flaming you, I'm just trying to make you understand that high school, much like life is not always easy and you have to learn to cope with your problems. Complaining about classes does not solve the issue. If this is flaming, then I've been away from the internet for too long.

I'm sorry for freaking out like that. I tend to take a lot of things the wrong way. I understand what you are saying. Again, sorry for flaming you like that.

History is always good to learn. Anything that has to do with science and math above College Algebra is useless
