Well, Al-Qaeda is a very well organized and funded terrorist group, they are not necessarily well trained compared to us, they do useless obstacle courses that dont really help them much and arent taught properly how to fire a rifle. dont get me wrong they are trained they have knowledge of explosives and try to understand how we operate. So yes they do have some training behind them, they are not as powerful as they were before, Osama Binladen is most likely extremely sick and dying. but we still have fighting to do, they will still continue to fight until they are all gone
from the people I've talked to that have actually seen members of Al-Qaeda fight in battle they aren't really well trained. I guess they would be rated better than civilians, but worse than any "serious" army in the world. I'd even go as far to say that semi-trained American civilians could beat them in battle (those that know how to fire a weapon, and have some knowledge of strategy).
Also do you think Osama Bin Laden himself has had any type of battle training.

Yes, in the Soviet Afghan war. The mujahadeen there won only because of money, both Arabian and American in origin. bin Laden got in there very late and because he was from the esteemed bin Laden family would never do anything as lowly as practicing with a weapon, let alone using one.

I suppose anythings possible Afghans are bats**** insane when it comes to foreign invaders. They left one doctor alive so he could go back to England and politely explain how the Afghans were a damn fine people with a good sense of humor. I read that a British agent in Afghanistan during the Soviet-Afghan war literally saw a bunch of Afghans raping a Soviet. They apparently take war seriously, some of them. Like, hardcore.

Of course they're well trained. When the only combat operation you carry out is blowing yourself up, you need the finest training that the world can offer.
that's why I added the bit about american citizens beating Al-qaeda. On average american citizens can be the most dangerous people in the world outside of russians maybe.

The CIA trained Osama & Al-Qaeda has been fractured, the level of training is all over the place because it is basically just a bunch of smaller splinter groups with little to no connection.
