From wikipedia: "the scoring of modern IQ tests such as the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale is now based on a projection of the subject's measured rank on the Gaussian bell curve with a center value (average IQ) of 100, and a standard deviation of 15, although different tests may have different standard deviations." Therefore the average and median is always 100. I think you are somewhat referring to what is known as the Flynn Effect- that there has been an increase in IQ over successive generations. That being said the average is ALWAYS set to 100.110 is about average. The average IQ goes up every generation, but I think it's around 110-115 or so.
