those certain males who act REALLY feminine. I mean...come on, not even woman act their level of feminine.

They act really frail, perky, innocent, care too much about looks, fashion etc, etc. I mean honestly, its a disgrace to women (or at least the women who make an effort to change that "image" of women).

Are they TRYING to enforce the stereotype of women? Do they do it for attention? Or is it simply because they feel the "need" to act that feminine?

Throw me a freaking bone here.

I don't know if it's a disgrace, but it sure is annoying as hell. It's a shame, because there's some really cool gays out there and the silly ones give them a bad name. Pretty much everyone has to deal with that to some extent though (i.e. slutty airheads give women a bad name).

I respect them though. They are out of closet by default. Closet gay isn't really helping the community.

I imagine it isn't. Not coming out is probably due to some personal issues though, no?

Flamers are primadonna's in man-suits. Leave them to it and do not try to understand. You could try, but you would only get frustrated...get your knickers in a twist...much like them...

Isn't being gay 'natural'? Perhaps they inherited the femininity rather than by choice.

Wellll... I can't speak for everyone. Especially since I'm not even gay (bi) but when I first started realizing things about myself I went a bit overboard.
Like "oh em gee, I discovered something new, time to express it!."
You see this with vegetarianism as well, once become make a switch to something new they over-express themselves.
I think that's probably what happens with a lot of younger people in particular.

Most of the older homosexuals I know (and even vegetarians) seem to be more calm and at peace with who they are, and don't feel the need to shout it out to everyone and make it blatantly obvious what their preference is.

Thats exactly how I am. I have gay friends and am all for gay marriage/rights, but theres this really flamboyant guy in my class that exaggerates his words, wears super tight jeans and is really sassy for no reason. I want to smack him every time he causes a scene.

edit: i just reread your post. I think we're talking about different things:P

Not sure what you mean, but, they have no choice but to make gay public. The gay parade and all, to encourage other people open up to themselves. The closet gays don't really help the community as they contributed nothing. (Which, yeah, I sux too). Fems did a lot for the gay community. I am greatful for that.

No, I just meant that if they've yet to come out that's probably due to some personal issues. Does that make sense? :P

I'm not trying to deny that they haven't, just it's taken a bit overboard sometimes. Once again, the same can be said for any type of group though.

I have a few friends who are gay but what I have noticed is, the dominant ones are mostly like normal dudes, but it is the subversive ones that act like chicks (flamers). After all, someone has to take it up the rear.

In my case, I am just too sissy LOL. I just too scared to tell my parents.

Anyway, yeah, any type of group has this. To be exact, you notice them because they are flashy. Otherwise you wouldn't even care. Haha.

You'll eventually make it through that though ;) Pretty much :P

Of course it is genetic.

It also depends on the environment the child was raised in. Genetics do indeed play a role, but genetic predispositions can be suppressed if the environment discourages the development of those traits. For example, if a child was raised in a strict religious household that strongly discouraged homosexuality, the child would be less likely to come out and make it known. However, if a child is raised in an environment that encourages a "be whoever you are" mentality, the child may be more likely to develop into more of a flamboyant person.

Be whoever you are mentality is not what I would attribute that to. From what I understand much of the childs identity forms in years 1-6 and often depends on the stability and quality of role models other than being open minded.

More flamboyant individuals can be annoying, but so couldn't anyone? They've embraced who they are in a society of ignorance and bigotry. They have my utmost respect.

The stereotypical homosexuals (trucker lesbian and fairy gay are usually looked down upon by everyone else the LGBT community, mostly because of their exaggerated personality. They're just the vocal minority that the media latched onto.

As for why they do it... I have no ****ing clue.

There are some gay men who naturally have high pitched voices and an interest in fashion. I've seen gay men who have deep voices and have no interest in fashion; which goes to show you that gays come in a variety of appearence and personality types (just like straights).

People can do whatever they want, so long as they're not hurting anybody. If a person's flamboyancy gets on your nerves, don't talk to them. Problem solved.

Let me guess...stereotypes be damned...it's always the individual.

There is a reason why insurance companies hire statisticians (actuaries), just like there is a reason why common stereotypes and generalizations become popular.

Guys who try to be women, but don't want to be women are odd to me. It's like a crossdresser, but too lazy to go all the way. Like chris crocker, he had his hair long and talked about his vagina amongst other things, and some other people similar to him who deny being a male at all. Being gay is fine, I don't know why people feel that they need to be so feminine if they aren't a tranny.

They probably need to visit a mental hospital, but nobody wants to suggest it because the antagonists would say people are claiming homosexuality is a mental disorder AND completely ignore the fact that a man whom not only thinks he's a woman also believes he has a vagina is clearly delusional. It has nothing to do with homosexuality, it's good ole fashioned insanity.

Yeah, I'm dating a transsexual and know a couple other as friends, and they all don't want to get the actual sex change op. It's just too incomplete for them to go through the extreme amount of hassle involved.

Absolutely, but Quadraleap seems to want to place some value in masking or disguising who they are, which is very perplexing to me.
