Whose idea was it to sandwich some cream between 2 slices of charcoal? I know Oreoes are quite popular in America, and they've started to appear over here (UK) about a year or so ago. How can anyone eat these things? The biscuit parts made me wince because of how dry and bitter they are, and the creamy part was so full of sugar I could feel my teeth disolve an inch before they reached it. Maybe it's an American thing, but these....things just aren't edible. Give me a bourbon or Hobnob anytime. So, thank you Oreos, you've just made me a biscuit xenophobe >: (

You didn't mention milk even once in your post. So you're doing it wrong. Dip it in milk and eat it with the milk sogged into it a bit.

I've tried them with milk. I've tried licking the cream and chucking the 2 biscuit things out. My opinion remains unchanged. Plus they stick to your teeth like cement after you chew them.

They've just appeared on the shelves where I live too. After my experience with Hershey's chocolate :? , I was going to give them a miss ... but then people keep going on about them here and, to be fair, some American sweets are decent - Reeses cups for one. I'm not expecting anything up to the standard of Ginger Creams or Hobnobs but I'll still give them a fair trial.

WELCOME TO WESTERN CULTURE... this includes most of western europe... and soon the rest of the World. We are all sugar/sodium addicts since processed foods started to take over in the 50's. And capitalism will only cause it to get worst. And everyone wonders why Americans are fat.

Are you sure you were eating Oreos, and not charcoal?

Perhaps you reached into the wrong bag(or box)?

Oreos have been in the UK for far longer than 2 years. Besides, they're awesome.
