There's no one country that can claim to have invented beer. We humans have been brewing beer all across the world for pretty much as long as human civilization has existed.

And where is that? Kaim91

Norway.

To be a bit more specific, we can buy and drink anything below 22% alcohol when we're 18. Anything that contains 22% or more, we'll need to be 21 to buy and drink ;)

I have had the opposite experience. Once when I was on a date at the age of 17 a waiter was in the process of poring champagne before I declined. o_O

Granted, I am not often in an experience that I would ever need to be carded so it's not like I have a lot of experiences to base my assertions off of. :P

It's perfectly legal if a parent is accompanying you.

Actually in the us it depends on state to state the consumption laws. The national law is to ban purchasing by those under 21 but consumption is still allowed.

its 18 here in alberta, but really the age is more of a..... bar age haha. 99% of people that drink, drink before they come of age.

Right. I know in Oregon you can legaly drink underage if you are at home and you have your parents permission.

I am completely stunned. The amount of friends I have with beer or alcohol in their facebook pics, especially for their 18th birthdays and high school graduation parties is astounding. Do the cops not clamp down on private consumption or such? msudude211
The law doesn't matter. People want to drink, they're going to drink. There is no reason, no sense of morality when it comes to the law. As long as something feels good, people going to do it. And this is why humans are not so clever, not so smart.

Not everyone is like that.

Yes they are. It's only applied to different circumstances. Some people think that their virtues are important and this feels good to them. And this may be why they follow the law. It's all the same. People doing what feels good to them. Make as many laws as you like, you aren't stopping or influencing anyone outside of their own capacities. If people enjoy a particular behavior, they will engage in that behavior, regardless of what the law says.
