[QUOTE="DJ_Lae"]that is insane. Were you street racing, and how much was that ticket?I went 160 in an 80 zone once, which I have a feeling is grounds for immediate license suspension here.
Never again.

Oh, I didn't get caught.
It's also km/h, so I guess it would be 100mph in a 50 zone. Twice the limit either way, just not as insanely fast.
I went 103 mph in a 65 zone once. :P Well, that's the fastest I've gone in a car with a speedometer that went over 85. I have no idea how fast I went in my Crown Victoria. It's also km/h, so I guess it would be 100mph in a 50 zone. Twice the limit either way, just not as insanely fast.

[QUOTE="cowboys89"]Im guessin if the 18 months resets and Im still on this provisional license when it expires I have to pay to renew it and the 18 months starts again?JandurinDude... do your best to get the court thing moved back. If you can get your provisionals off before you actually go to court, you're technically still innocent and can get your license un provisionalized. Otherwise, it resets. I should have known it would reset. But I wouldnt qualify for the full license until the end of this coming September. I'll be 3.5 hours away from home back at college and would have to come home for the hearing, if they let me push it back that far. It just seems easier to get court done ASAP, and if I can still drive im following every speed limit i see. So if I have to drive after midnite Im not getting pulled over and my license wont get checked. Plus while im at college i wont have a car anyway, so its not like i could get in trouble.
yeah 160 mph would be like a formula 1 racecar or something . I once did 90 (mph) on a 25 road. If I had gotten caught I don't know what would've happened to me. Nearly ran some poor bloke over too :(. That could've been messy. Ever since then I've slowed down. It was during my younger, stupider years.
The lesson to learn here isn't to not speed. It's to not get caught ;).

The speedometer went to 220km/h, and I was curious if I could actually get it going that fast (I had just received my license). I chickened out at 165 or so before slowing back down again. Still, I doubt it could break 200 as I was already getting close to the redline in the final gear.
I had an old Corona, too, which had one of those giant square speedometers and it peaked at 140. On the highway I managed to sneak the needle past that until it hit the odometer reset post. Interesting that older cars had much more reserved speedometers...seems silly having it go so high when the car isn't even capable of it.

I dunno why I assumed you got caught...I havent been thinking clearly since last night. I thought for a quck second that I shouldnt pull over and keep it movin. The cop was a little down this dirt road and I had a good head start. But the car I was in isnt exactly new and the steering wheel and sometimes the car shakes if i go over 75, which always scared me a little. I didnt want to risk wreckin the car, on top of the ticket, on top of getting caught running from police. Would not have been pretty.yeah, and to not have it go high when the car is easily capable of it.seems silly having it go so high when the car isn't even capable of it.

On that note my buddy got away running from the cops, and my cousin was driving a WRX with 6 of us in the car, and he got away. I thought both of them were idiots, though.
Yeah, sounds like you're just gonna have to deal with another 18 months of provisional's. :(JandurinYea, but thats my smallest problem right now. Im thinking more and more my parents will make me go to court to avoid the insurance going up. So Im thinking about how that would go. I know every possible thing will go wrong, Im just getting a picture of what it will be.

Maybe I could have blamed GTA IV for making it seem so easy to get away  love that game.... I also could of sworn I saw a flash when i went past the cop. First thing I thought about was if he had a photo of my license plate.
I know every possible thing will go wrong, Im just getting a picture of what it will be.cowboys89Don't worry about it. This is small potatoes in court. Just tell them your record is clear and that you are sorry. Seriously, this is very much not an issue in court. Just make sure to show up ahead of time and dress nice.

But usually every mistake I make, regardless of how bad it is, has a snowball effect and goes as bad as possible. I dont see how this will be different, but I guess I can hope. But anyway, thanks to everybody in the thread for the advice and I learned my lesson.
Lucky. I jsut got my first a couple of weeks ago. 47 in a 35-school zone. I was lost though so I didnt know it was a school zone and the cop said the only reason he pulled me over was because he couldnt see my license plates.(i literally had jsut gotten back from the DMV 10 mins before, so I was going home to put the plates on)......
Well, my ticket is 4 points, 225 fine.
