I tip 20%, with a 5$ minimum. and why it is indeed not law to tip your delieverymen/host. It is pretty ***** to not tip them for their time, as someone has already said here in America, jobs like that tend to be relient on tips. I realize in some European countries and the like the tip is already included in the price( though, I would still tip after myself) but that is not the case here.

Sounds like you're just bitter. :|If I were to have a pizza delivered, I guess $5-ish dollars maybe, I don't know. I would tip though, because I would feel like an ass if I didn't.
[QUOTE="Hexagon_777"]Exactly. What on Earth is he thinking? Excuse me for being a decent person. I really hope you don't live in the US with a garbage attitude like that. So you spent $14 on a pizza and they charge you $17... that's 20% tax. I think they added on a delivery charge so $3 sound pretty good. I've heard some places charge for delivery, and that charge doesn't go to the driver, and you should tip to compensate for that, but that's BS.

And if every waiter/pizza deliverer followed that logic, we wouldn't even have any waiters or pizza delivery guys. We'd have to get our own meals or pizza all the time. Tipping is a way to show waiters, pizza delivery guys that we appreciate the work they did for us. Not tipping someone even if they do a good job serving you, is being unappreciative of someone going out of their way to give you a pleasant service is just extremely selfish and cruel. A waiter is willing to take a job as a waiter to help make your dining experience enjoyable, and isn't it only decent enough to repay them for their good service for you and all they did for you to please you (assuming that they did their job well)? Being a waiter is NOT an easy job afterall.
And I'm speaking about the US when I say this, since in other countries atleast tips are not as vital.

There is already an extra fee... If the food cost extra I'd still pay full price but give me the choice and I'd gladly decline. It makes me no better or worse than you. For you to even think that means you should(as I said in the beginning) get over yourself. If I was not paying full price then you could label me lesser. $0. I honestly never thought about tipping them. Restaurants, yes, but pizza delivery people, no. Pizza Hut already charges enough as is.

No. If everyone followed that logic employer would be forces to pay them fair wages...Do you know why that doesn't happen? Because then people would be FORCED to pay decent wages, which a lot of people are apparently NOT WILING TO DO. This payment ALWAYS comes from the customers.
Look...waiters are going to have to get a reasonable amount if they're going to keep working where they work. Tips accomplish this while keeping the restaurant profitable enough to stay in business. When business is slow, waiters take the cut. They show up for work, don't get a single table, then get sent home after 3 hours. When a cheapass customer comes in and decides to stiff on tips, the WAITER takes a pay cut, while the restaurant still makes its money on food costs.
I see absolutely no logical reason why people complain about tipping, considering that they don';t have to do it. They can refuse to tip EVERY SINGLE TIME, and it's the waiter who is getting screwed. For someone who can't affor to tip 15%, isn't that far more preferable than being FORCED to tip 15% by having that "service charge" incorporated into the actual bill? FORCED tipping would result in businesses being forced to pay their employees higher wages when business is down. FORCED tipping would result in customers having to pay higher prices evn when the service sucks. That'd result in more businesses simply not being profitabble, leading to fewer options when you want to take your date out on a nice dinner.
If you don't respect the delivery driver enough to tip, don't order pizza for delivery. meteo_rytelol respect for a pizza delivery driver... priceless

You effectively concede that the problem starts from the employers who dont pay a respectable wage and then you call the customers who dont compensate for that, mooches?

LOL. I got a pizza from Dominoes one time where the slices were all stacked on top of each other cold. I was so curious as to how that could happen, but now I know.I always tip way too much because i'm confused as to how much is appropriate. For pizza i usually give about £3 on a £10 bill.
3 bucks no matter cost. I am a good tipper generally, but I find myself being restrictive on how much I give drivers.
