people don't seem to understand the distinction I am making betwee REAL death metal and feminine "progressive" death metal.
I believe I can explain this dilemma through a comparison of album artwork. I will compare both Opeth and Origin's latest album art, both from 2008
Here is Origin - Antithesis. I recommend buying this.

Notice how Origin demonstrate how monstrous they are. That thing on the front is frightening. Origin is frightening. There is tons of METAL on the cover because Origin are METAL.
There are also fangs because fangs are frightening. When I look at that album, I feel afraid, just like whenever i pop in an origin album, I feel afraid. i feel afraid that I will be bitten by the fangs of heaviness. I am intimidated. Origin's artwork causes/reflects that.
Very importantly, the album also makes clear that the giant metal head with fangs is in space. Space symbolizes that Origin is technical to a scientific extent. That's impressive. Space is also cold and mechanical, as are Origin. Space = machine-like technicality. That's what I look for in my music, and so should you.
Here is Opeth - Watershed

What the hell is this? It's a man sitting at a desk. I dont feel intimidated. It's not a giant alien head with fangs in space. That's intimidating. A man sitting at a desk is not.
Also, I notice that he is sitting with his back to me. This shows cowardice. Opeth are cowards. It is also a sign of disrespect. That's not appropriate; unless you are Origin.
Furthermore, instead of being in space, the album looks to be located in the 19th century, or some vision of the past. That proves that Opeth are musically regressive, simple, and backwards. I thought Opeth said they were progressive? This artwork shows them to be liars. Origin are not liars.
