I just put an Opeth poster on my wall.

[QUOTE="Guppy507"]Ozone?!?! everyone loves the numa numa song.Paladin_King

Why would I listen to that when i can listen to classics like "Debased Humanity" and "wrath of vishnu?" I don't think you understand Origin. I don't think you understand death metal. I recommend you go back to my previous post and stare at that bearded grimace for 24 minutes. Then maybe you will find yourself. Origin rules.

I just was naming the best band evar that starts with an "O"... Ozone is just pure talant in human form :o

Origin > Opeth. Origin are perhaps the best band whose name starts with an O. Yes this means they are better than Obituary.

I would like an Origin poster like this on my wall

Look at how tough that guy is. Death metal. That's great. Look at that beard and hobo chique. Look at that chain, studded guitar strap, and menacing "metal constipation" expression, all sweetly and paradoxically juxtaposed with the tight black leather pants that say "i may be tough, but i've also got flare!"

I'd feel happy having that guy on my wall. Wouldn't you?

Now look at the sissy man from Opeth

Do I really need to expand on this? The bizarre choice of alcohol, the goofy smiling (smiling is not allowed in metal! unless doing so makes you look crazy...which is not the case here). Also, what's with the lame hand gesture? Where are the horns? That's not cool. Worst of all, while he is wearing black, the man is wearing a SWEATER. that's not metal. He also has no leather on his person, as opposed to the Origin guitarist's shining black pants, which are epically sweet

With that, i rest my case. Origin > Opeth, Origin = death metal. TC, tear down that poster now and put up an Origin poster. They are the best metal band to start with an O. This is a fact.

Paladin_King

I laughed at first because I thought it was sarcasm, but now I'm not really sure. If you or anyone else is impying Opeth isn't the best band to have ever existed please go feed your ears to Mike Tyson, proceed to the nearest bridge, and jump off of it.

Well I thought we were sharing completely irrelevant things that no one cares about, hence my input.

Sure, I can do that. Sometimes, when my leg gets numb, I try walking on it, just to see how far I can get.

people don't seem to understand the distinction I am making betwee REAL death metal and feminine "progressive" death metal.

I believe I can explain this dilemma through a comparison of album artwork. I will compare both Opeth and Origin's latest album art, both from 2008

Here is Origin - Antithesis. I recommend buying this.

Notice how Origin demonstrate how monstrous they are. That thing on the front is frightening. Origin is frightening. There is tons of METAL on the cover because Origin are METAL.

There are also fangs because fangs are frightening. When I look at that album, I feel afraid, just like whenever i pop in an origin album, I feel afraid. i feel afraid that I will be bitten by the fangs of heaviness. I am intimidated. Origin's artwork causes/reflects that.

Very importantly, the album also makes clear that the giant metal head with fangs is in space. Space symbolizes that Origin is technical to a scientific extent. That's impressive. Space is also cold and mechanical, as are Origin. Space = machine-like technicality. That's what I look for in my music, and so should you.

Here is Opeth - Watershed

What the hell is this? It's a man sitting at a desk. I dont feel intimidated. It's not a giant alien head with fangs in space. That's intimidating. A man sitting at a desk is not.

Also, I notice that he is sitting with his back to me. This shows cowardice. Opeth are cowards. It is also a sign of disrespect. That's not appropriate; unless you are Origin.

Furthermore, instead of being in space, the album looks to be located in the 19th century, or some vision of the past. That proves that Opeth are musically regressive, simple, and backwards. I thought Opeth said they were progressive? This artwork shows them to be liars. Origin are not liars.

You're absolutely right! I'll stop listening to Opeth at once. There's never any metal on their covers! wtf is with that?!

Opeth have clean singing. CLEAN SINGING. This means that they are immediately disqualified from any "best band ever" contests. Clean singing = whimpy, making Opeth whimpy. They also have an ACOUSTIC ALBUM. That disgusts me.

I thought this would be one of those weird folk metal bands. BUT IT'S NOT DEATH METAL! It's indie rock? i have had a word with them. I have told them that they are not heavy. They agreed.

I explored the first 5 seconds and I didn't like it that much. If they where the best wouldn't I have kept listening? I call for a truce and say there is no better band because everyone's tastes are different.

Then in that case, the coat is unneeded. If just anyone can wear one, it obviously isn't necessary for science.

No. Clearly they are so good that they simply overwhelmed your pitiful senses with their musical intensity. I'm glad you stopped listening. I wouldn't want you to suffer any lasting damage. I recommend listening 5 seconds a day at first, gradually increasing that by 1 second every three days.

No, a coat is necessary for science. But just because anyone can wear a coat, it doesn't make whatever they're doing science.

[QUOTE="Paladin_King"] No. Clearly they are so bad that they simply underwhelmed your senses with their pitiful musical intensity. I'm glad you stopped listening. I wouldn't want you to suffer any lasting damage. I recommend tracking them down and setting fire to their instruments. Penguin_dragon
Fixt.

Good luck with that, but i have found INCONTRAVERTIBLE PROOF that you are wrong! You cannot assail Origin's musical intensity. Here is why.

When I googled "Origin Metal" here is one of the first images i found (meaning that this is representative of Origin)

According to google this is an "expanded METAL mesh machine."

this is representative of the intensity that is Origin. This is what Origin does to the average sissy music listener. This is why you should respect Origin.

Please also note that the "expanded METAL mesh machine" is made of metal, and hence cannot be set on fire, as you suggest. This proves that Origin and their instruments cannot be set on fire either. This is fact and so you are wrong.

Don't you start. Don't be bringing that into this thread of awesomeness.

That said, Origin + Opeth + Souljah Boy. Do I smell a possible tour line-up? I think so. I can already smell the ticket sales.
