I think it was a poorly done snuf filmed aimed at guilting people into believing.....yoshi-lnex
If you actually think that, then you dont understand christianity at all and are showing a high degree of ignorance towards the religion and why there is an emphasis on his death.

Yes very true
I have just watched the passion of the Christ and i thought it was very emotional and really gets you thinking about what he went through, what do your think?PSYCO109I don't think he ever existed...Maybe he existed, but like King Arthur, his story is fictional. Will not see the movie.

The person, Jesus Christ, DID exsist. That is not debated, the fact he was crucified is also not debated, what is debated is wether he was the Son of God, wether he actually resurrected, and wether his miracles were real or not.
but still had holes in his hands....I don't think that was mentioned in the bible..squidder_doaThat is mentioned in the bible.
I thought it was ok.:| yes it was. remember thomas doubted him but jesus was like "look at my hands, foo."
The end was stupid. He came back to life, had an immaculate body again, but still had holes in his hands....I don't think that was mentioned in the bible...

Jesus's death is overrated. Life is where it's at.I thought it was ok.when he came back to life in the bible he still had the wholes in his hands, feet and his side from the spear. *shudders* those sunday school lessons stuck *runs away screaming* btw movie was ok. not the worst movie i have ever seen. it just didn't move me as much as it moved others, this is prolly becasue i am evil and heartless (that and i was trying to dodge crazy christians trying to make me convert)

I'm not really into sadistic stuff really either.squidder_doa

So why even bother replying to this post? Or even reading it int he first place?
To voice my opinion. I don't have to like something to reply to it. And he asked us what we thought. He never said "only reply if you like the movie."[QUOTE="squidder_doa"]I thought it was ok.

I understand the focus on the death, but that doesn't mitigate what I've said.[QUOTE="Tolwan"][QUOTE="yoshi-lnex"]I think it was a poorly done snuf filmed aimed at guilting people into believing.....yoshi-lnex

I understand the focus on the death, but that doesn't mitigate what I've said.I agree. People keep saying it rekindled their faith in christianity. That in itself completely proves his point. It says nothing to convince you that the religion is right. All that happens is Jesus gets his ass handed to him for 2 solid hours and people feel bad for him so they are guilted into believing he was the real son of god.

It's not used to guilt anyone. It's a reminder of what he went through for Humanities Sin's. Otherwise, the Earth would have been destroyed and our souls never saved. It's one of the single most important part's of his life.

The gospel according to John, Chapter 20, verses 24-31 if I recall correctly talks about how this person named Thomas doesn't believe He is Jesus unless he is allowed to put his finger into the print of the nails, and later in that segment He lets Thomas put his finger into the print and into his side, and then he believes it's Him, so that may be what you're referring to about the holes.

yes...just like a person "reminds" someone that they're best friends to get them to do a favor....yeah...not at all a guilt at all:roll:

You're showing a high degree of ignorance in taking Mel Gibson's MOVIE to be an accurate portrayal of what christ was like/what happened to him.

Do you know why He died on a cross in the first place?
There's more to it than just, "He died for sins".
Can you see the reasoning behind His death and ressurection and what Christ's beatings and bloodshed represent?
