it, is, by no doubt, the worst piece of crap I have seen in awhile.  There is really no reason, AT ALL, why anybody should like this movie.  I haven't read the book, and I went with a friend for the heck of it, and oh my.... =/

For people who read the book, is there REALLY a scene where vampires play baseball?  because....well....my jaws were dropped at that scene....

It sank even further down my list of movies to avoid like the plague when I saw them 'flying' in the trailer. I hesitate to call it flying, but there is no single word in the english language to describe it.

I have a saying that if it don't look good at all, then don't bother putting it in.....but wow, this takes the cake for "WORST special effects in a film" this year......but the vampire baseball......that scene should go down in movie history..=/

Haha, yeah, the baseball scene is in the book. I actually hated that scene in the book and enjoyed it more in the movie for some reason. I don't know. Yeah, overall Twilight is just...really really ridiculous, but yet I've read all the books and seen the movie. :P

It was an over-popularized movie based upon a generic book with an awful level of language, did you honestly expect anything mediocre from it?

Yeah, that's exactly why I continued to read the books... They were just THAT ridiculous that I had to keep going. I mostly read them because they were so damn funny.

From what I've heard of the book, the ONLY way they could make a movie of this and, actually, make it good, would be to take it SO SO SO seriously and make it long AND epic.....or the other way to make it work would be not to take itself seriously at all and make it a comical noir of sorts.....like sin city-esque (oh, I can't believe I just compared Twilight to Sin City)

The real question is, if......excuse me....WHEN they make movies out of the other books, can they possibly get any worse than this one? I haven't seen it, but it sounds like it's pretty awful.

Any particular reason you felt motivated enough to throw yourself in front of a movie about a wolf, or was it a vampire who meets a girl at high school?

EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER in this story is boring, especially the two main characters (Bella and Edward) not to mention they're shallow and lifeless

Yep, you're exactly right...and even then I think it'd be impossible to make it actually good since the books are lame to begin with. :P

Oh, and I totally agree with this. I can't STAND Edward and Bella. They're both so obnoxious. Edward's ridiculous and overprotective (moreso in the books) and Bella is selfish and boring. I only really like Jacob Black, Bella's dad Charlie, and a few of the other Cullens a bit.

My wife seems to think they'd have better luck adapting the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series into film, even though there will be those who cry foul and claim it's a rip-off of Buffy.

If you want to see a goodvampire movie, I'd recommend Interview with the vampire.

This movie was obviously made for young girls

  It sounds like you made her go by herself. Which was probably a good idea.

My friend went to see this at the midnight show and said it was really good. Now she's gonna read all the books, which she hadn't done before seeing the movie. She's lost all my respect now.   :)

Also, vampires playing baseball lol.

Indeed. "I punched the door, slamming it against the wall with a loud crack, and stomped into the room" or something like that would be better. It's best to communicate a character's emotions through his or her actions, rather than "in anger" or "in joy."

It's sad that it's actually making money in the box-office because all the fangirls think they can actually relate to a vampire. But oh well, it wont be good in the end.

I think the movie that you have in your sig is still the best movie of 2008.:D

Its not horrible because its different, its horrible because it is cheesy and poorly done.
