I just thought of something kind of random... If 1 is pronounced "One", 2 is pronounced "Two", and 22 is pronounced "Twenty Two", 33 is pronounced "Thirty Three", Etc., then why isn't 11 pronounced "Onetee One"?
Any ideas?

It obviously wanted to be different... notice how the number 12 right after it starts with "tw", just like its predecessor: "two". And so on... It is just the rebel. Every thing has one.yentlequibleYeah, but "One" and "Eleven"... Nothing is similar between the two.

The numbers after 11 start with the same letters as the original one digit versions. That is why 11 is the rebel. It had to be different. It is like the brown egg in a carton of white ones.
