I don't even care about commerical products so I don't see how it will hurt the internet market.

The only thing that has kept it going are dumb people who use IE and buy things off ads. Other than the website making cash of ads, who cares. They still are making a lot off a certain group.

Ads arent just a annoyance but a security risk. Alot of ads can run malware through them.

I've gotten alot of malware before I used adblock plus.

You don't even have to click the ad to get the malware.

As long as it is on the same page as the one you are on you can be at risk.

Nope because it works fine with me. I don't want ads to constantly pop up when I'm trying to do something online. That'll really get annoying.

After contemplating hard on it I realised that it's not much different than piracy, you are using something for free and dont have any right to block the ads which keep the internet running. If the use of adblock in browsers becomes too much then this could hurt the future of the internet.

And before you say something yes I do watch youtube videos and donot claim to follow copyright rules all the time but the thing is that this particular thing is easily avoidable and does not cost me anything, just a little annoyance which I should bear for using a site for free.

I am not gonna tell all adblock users that you are doing something wrong because these are very subjective issues and even I was using it for years until recently so who am I to say anyone anything. But I will say one thing and that is that you should think about it atleast.:)

Not... sure... if... serious...

But in all reality, no I'm not going to take down an adblocker. They are downright disgusting on some sites and I choose to avoid them. They get their money from other people and they will not get their money from me. Frankly, the fewer ads I see the better. If I wanted them all the time, I'd just watch TV.

I will keep it as long as I use the Internet. I hate stupid false ads and I don't give a dam about what's running the Internet.

Only a very small minority are actually aware of browser extensions and an even smaller minority are aware of AdBlock Plus. The knowledgeable benefit from the information they have, but are too small in size to really affect anything. I don't quite see the issue unless the masses start using AdBlock Plus.

I love adblock because it keeps out annoying and potentially harmful ads away from my computer.

I never signed a legal contract so I exercise my right to block them. I paid for my ISP, now I have to stand money-hungry corporations' annoying creations being shoved into my face? Well they can live without a consumer viewing their bull****.

Advertisements have never made me go out and buy the product, and they never will. Plus websites load faster without ads. I think I'll be keeping my sweet, sweet, adblock contraption.

[QUOTE="DroidPhysX"][QUOTE="ff7fan2"]No. I didn't click on the ads in the first place. All adblock is doing is blocking the ads from the consumer's view. It's like it's going into the website's server and deleting the ad all together. As far as the website is concerned, you're still viewing the ad.Gambler_3
Pretty much this. They think you're still viewing the ad on their side

Have you never been to a site which specifically requests you to diable adblock as it hurts their revenue? It's obvious they know about it...

Indeed. Some websites actually ask you to turn off AdBlock Plus if you want to use their services so they can indeed tell if you're using AdBlock Plus. Thing is, those websites are very few in number and are perhaps amongst the more desperate ones.

Would anyone care to explain what's so illegal about using a popup blocker?

TC obivously thinks it's immoral to block out a site's source of funding when it can potentially load viruses and malware on the viewers themselves.
