Well if your friend has poll-ed all the gamers in the world and realized taht 80% of them listen to metal - then he's right. I don't think so. It depends on the culture. For example in my country, most of them listen to rap or pop folk... Metals usually paly guitars, thinking they are a big deal, instead playing games...

You could say so but I think it depends what game they play they going to listen to metal when they are playing a racing game are they more like Techno or Hardstyle I would say..

Yes, I listen to metal. Mostly the stuff like Judas Priest or Metallica with clean vocals or light screaming (although I do like some of the extreme stuff from time to time). Prog metal is awesome, too.

It's not my favorite genre, and I'm not a dedicated metalhead, but I like quite a bit of it.

The only metalcore that I've heard that Iconsider metal would be Protest the Hero (awesome), Lamb of God (which I don't like that much), and Bullet For My Valentine (they're ok).

I listen to Metal, Folk, Prog, Black, Doom, Symphonic, Death, Power, Sludge, Post, Thrash... I like at least a couple artists from every subgenre except Drone Metal.
