It's been a really long time since I made a big update in my music library (probably like 2-3 years) and I need new songs/artists for my trip to England.

I really like classic rock but I will try any rock recommendations.

I think I wouldn't like any other genre besides rock but maybe I would be willing to add some non rock songs if theyv are really good.

Also PLEASE don't recommend Green day, Paramore, Simple Plan, My Chemical Romance and those kind of bands.

Well rock is a pretty broad spectrum, care to be more specific? Personally these are bands I'd consider sort of rock in some way and that I like, Pulled Apart By Horses (pretty heavy rock, mainly in terms of the vocals), And So I Watch You From Afar (instrumental-check the sig), Talons (also instrumental), Adebisi Shank (hey guess what, instrumental) and Lafaro are also great (they're not instrumental =p)

EDIT: Added in some songs, probably not your taste but who cares someone might like it =D

As I said, I love classic rock, my favorite bands are Led Zeppelin and The Doors but I want to expand my horizons so I think I even like non-classic rock recommendations even more.

BTW I would also like songs that help me think

Albums Pantera - "Vulgar Display of Power" Metallica - "The Black Album" Alice In Chains - "Unplugged" Soundgarden - "Superunknown" Rammstein - "Reise, Reise" Other than Metallica, it may not be "classic rock" but all of them are built on those foundations, and branch out into new sounds that were pleasing for me after growing out of my "classic rock" phase. Pantera's vocals are an "acquired taste" though.

Yeah, I've noticed this is one of my problems, I'm so used to loving the music I hear on my ipod that anything that I don't like as much, just doesn't feel right. I have to get the music to grow on me but I think that the only way to do that would be buying the whole album and I would hate spending 10-20 dollars on something I wouldn't like or even worse, my mom losing the CDs to put her stupid "the secret" discs (I think she already lost most of the CDs I owned that way)

Just use a service like Grooveshark to listen to the album, then decide if you want to purchase it.

I cannot even begin to emphasise how first impressions can be dead-wrong. A couple months ago I started listening to Pantera's album "Cowboys From Hell" and sure, it is some great thrash metal with a glam-metal vocalist with crazy range (Cemetery Gates much?). But when I tried listening to The Great Southern Trendkill, Vulgar Display of Power, Beyond Driven and Reinventing the Steel... I couldn't get past the vocals (once being a staunch advocate of "clear" vocals) despite loving the songs around them. Then one day I just decided to try again (after getting bored of Metallica), and the song "Death Rattle" just clicked something in me, and they are my favourite band now. Songs like Walk, F***ing Hostile, Yesterday Don't Mean S***, etc. no longer made me cringe in disgust at the grunting vocals of Phil Anselmo... but actually had me singing along. And nothing... NOTHING beats the driving guitar of Dimebag's godlike skills. "The Underground In America" has one of the most badass opening riffs I've ever heard in my life.

I decided to listen to your songs before a few that were posted before simply because I love Rocko. Still watch it this days whenever I can at 12:00 am in Mexico. I did like the song but not only did I feel I didn't like it enough but I also think it would contrast way too much with the rest of my playlist so I don't think it's getting to my ipod and the second one is not available in my country.

+1 Despite having such great talent, I'm amazed at how few original songs they came up with.

Well you've obviously haven't delved into their library of music

Or did you just listen to their first album? Even then 6 of the 9 songs on that album were original.
