Ask him to upload pics of the magazines themselves, with bullets. That, or call the police. Or ask him if he has a Class 3 Weapons license and all the necessary papers. Or ask him where he got it. Or ask if he has a criminal record. Or ask if they're semi-automatic clones. Or ask if he's secretly a government agent tasked on becoming a part of a gang so he can help with drug busts. Or tell us where he lives.

We need more information.

Dude, they could be real, they could be fake. We don't know based on the pictures. They're are so many possibilities it's not even funny. The first pic could be an AK74M with a new stock. It could be a modified airsoft gun. It could be a model. Etc. etc. etc. The second is ever worse. There are countless numbers of AR15-style rifles and even more aftermarket parts for them. My advice is to call the cops on his ass.

As most people don't have a clue I just showed my Dad the photos and he said they're real. You can probably take his word, he was in the army for 24 years. So yeh. Your friend could get in a lot of trouble.

You don't need a class 3 license for a semiautomatic variant.

In Pennsylvania, I don't think you need any kind of license to own any type of legal firearm...

You need a federal license for an automatic weapon, though.

Automatic weapons aren't generally legal, though. Pretty much everything up to fully automatic doesn't require licensing.

Actually, automatic weapons are legal. You just need a federal license.

EDIT: actually, I need to correct myself. It's not technically a license. You just have to pass a BATF background check and pay a $200 tax upon reciept of your automatic weapon. As long as you pass the background check and pay the $200, you can't be denied.

So, as long as someone doesn't have a criminal record and has $200 to spend on the tax, then they can get a fully automatic weapon.

Eh,I have a friend like that too.Used to own a lot of firearms and he's still into drugs.
Me and my buddies talked to him and told him that all those weapons were dangerous and that he could get into serious trouble for owning them.

He got rid of them a while ago,now he makes his own melee weapons...

If that M4 Carbine is freaking real (they make paintball guns that almost look just like that), which i think it is, he'll be doing time! Civilians can't carry/own automatic military weapons like that.

i you were charge with a misdemeanor but got it dropped, can you still get one? so you would just have an arrest on your record, but not convicted of anything.

They look pretty real to me.. especially the first one, considering it does have a gun lock on it. BUT... it COULD be an airsoft gun. They make them look SO dang real these days, but in complete honesty to me they do look real. Umm. Yea, there are different circumstances that can make them legal or illegal, but really i would just call the cops and tell them your psychopathic friend has some pretty realistic looking (you arent sure) pieces and you are unsure if they are legal for him to own or not, and are genuinely concerned for his safety and the safety of the public. They will find out. You could also tip them anonomously

I have an FN P90. Normally it would be pretty dang illegal for me to haul that around to the shooting range. However, it has a plug in the magazine so I can only load so much ammo in it .... (..... yea, i KNOW its really ridiculous cause its SO easy to remove the plug and fill'er up, but really I dont have a need to do that). I have it cause I enjoy collecting. I dont live in a bad neighborhood, nor do I carry it with me around all over the place. It is locked up, in pieces, and I have no ammo for it currently. So its not impossible for him to have those guns legally, if certain measures are taken. They may not even be functional guns.

You also have to get a sheriff or police chief to sign a form. Depending on where you live, that can be tricky.

Sure. If you aren't convicted then you aren't convicted. I left out one step, though, and it can be a doozy. In addition to passing a BATF background check and paying $200, you also have to have signed consent from the head of a local law enforcement agency, like a county sheriff or a police chief. Depending on where you live, this can be tricky. Where I live, it isn't tricky at all. Sheriffs here are elected and if you live in a rural area, a sheriff isn't likely to turn you down since he needs every vote he can get. In my case, I would just go over to the sheriff's house and ask him for the favor.

If they turn out to be real and he really is a paranoid nutjob then he should be arrested and cross examined. For the safety of others I think it would be worth it... Gang principles clearly don't work in most situations.
