Funny how where I live the majority of people are Christians... yet none fit the stereotype.Brainkiller05
True but that isn't the way of OT. Religion threads are full of misinformation.
Doubt it'll work for several reasons....
1. Nowhere in your post do you say she likes you.
2. You "think" you love/like her.:?
3. You label her....therefore stereotyping her.
I'd look for another where I you...
[QUOTE="chester706"][QUOTE="TERMINAT0R1"]Thats a bad assunmption. I am a Catholic Christein and I am nothing like this. Also you have no idea what your are talking about.I lso am actaully a very frank and atraightforward person and use logic when I have to. Thats a pretty bad assumption of those people (who are the majority I would believe in the U.S.).Get out of it. Religious folk are NUTJOBS who absolutely, ALWAYS refuse to logically and raitonally think things through. I could never be with someone like that. It's like the other person is a wimp whose too afraid of everything in life. I'd much rather like to be with someone who has a sense of responsibilty and decency who doesn't blame God for every problem. No, an all-loving being who allows World Wars is NOT the reason it rained. It's called water condensation.
Just try explaining how irrational, pathetic, and pointless it is to have a religion. It's just like believing in something like The Cat in the Hat. Compared to the Bible, both are STORIES with absolutely zero chance of ever happening.
That's my 2 cents. But if you tihnk religion will be a problem, its best to discuss it sooner rather than later.

They are. About 80% of the U.S is Christein or some form of it.chester706You just told the other guy not to assume that just because somebody is a Christian that they are like that, and then you assume that the majortiy of Americans are like that because they are Christian.
Oh yeah, actually, Elraptor made a good point. I totally forgot about the unequally yoked thing, and I wasn't thinking about her. For her and your sake, don't try it.
Dude, I can tell you now that it can happen. I dated an Atheist before and we had a great reltionship. We only broke up because of personal reasons.Well, may "in love with" is a little bit too strong. Perhaps it's more accurate to say that I "almost sort of like her."
But I like everything about her except for the fact that she's a Christian, is immature and irresponsible, and isn't very good looking.
But it's not necesarily that she's a Christian that bothers me. She's one of those weird Christians that doesn't like gays, won't have sex before marriage, and gets mad when she hears people take the Lord's name in vain.
But other than that, I really almost sort of like her, and we really seem to get along well together.
My question is, what are the chances of us being happy together? Because I'm a really hardcore atheist, but on the other hand I love Jesus. But I only sort of love Jesus. I mean, I try to be like Jesus, but that whole thing about how you need to give your soul to Jesus in order to go to heaven is a crock of ****. I try to be like Jesus a hell of a lot more than a lot of the people who claim to be his followers, and I'm a freaking hardcore atheist. I say that you shouldn't love Jesus because you want to get into heaven, but rather that you should try to be like Jesus because Jesus was ****ing awesome.
Also, funnily enough, maybe I like her because she reminds me of my mom. Like, my mom is always praying for my soul because I don't believe in God. Meanwhile, my dad is so non-theistic that he's not even an atheist. He doesn't not believe that God exists, he just plain doesn't think that it's even worth considering.
But hey, things worked out for them. They've been married for several decades. Of course, they also don't really get along that well, and they're always yelling at each other, but they still seem to love each other. If it could work for them, maybe it could work for me?
Do you think that an atheist who loves Jesus, and a Christian fundamentalist, could ever get along in a serious relationship?
